“Comfort food at it's best”
Located in a residential area, we took bus number 5 and drop at Ushimoto-cho and walk about 5 minutes off the main street. The restaurant is located in a nondescript building. Photograhy is strictly prohibited by the owner. Service is fast, polite and professional. The place is simple but a little ze...n looking. They only offer soba but in a few variation: cold (zaru) soba, hot soba noodles served in different ways: kake (plain), kitsune (with sweet tofu topping), tanuki (tempura batter topped) and nisshin soba (hot soba noodles topped with fish and green onion). There is also miso soup, grilled kamo (duck), grilled kamo duck soup, dashi broth with egg soup. As we sit down, we were served a light buckwheat tea. Towards the ending part, we were served the broth that they cooked the soba which the owner inform is drinkable direct or mix with the soup. The soba cooked to perfection was very good and soup was fantastic. It's no wonder they have 1 Michelin Star to their name. The owner take so much pride in his food that you can see it from his attitude the moment you step in the restaurant. It is also my observation that they are not very plaesed with noisy guest so children can be a problem here. Opening Hours: Lunch: 11:30 to 14:00 hours Dinner: 18:00 to 20:00 hours
