“Authentic ramen, open till late”
Randomly picked this place for a late dinner and was pleasantly surprised by how excellent the ramen and broth was. Prices are reasonable, service really quick.

“Delicious Hakata style tonkotsu ramen”
I'm so glad we looked up Gaba when we were visiting Hiroshima. Gaba serves a solid bowl of Hakata style tonkotsu ramen. I tried both the plain and black garlic version of the 'lighter' broth. I don't read enough Japanese, so I would have tried the heavier broth as well but in the end I just pointed ...at a couple of pictures. We also ordered gyoza on the side, these weren't very exciting. I drank my whole bowl of soup though, right to the end.

“Sacrifice taste for show”
Not sure who wrote this was the BEST noodles around, but they Obviously didn't just walk around and go into other small noodle shops. Out of the 6 or so that I went to, this one was probably in last place. If you have NOTHING else to compare it to, I can see why you think it would be good. But DO NO...T go out of your way to go here. The soup is pretty bland (by Japanese standards), and the only cool thing (sort of) is all the yelling that the cooks do. But even that gets a little annoying. Seriously, has anyone else tried other places?? Just find a tiny spot that has people in it, and i GUARANTEE it'll be tastier than this joint. Oh and I'm not just a negative person that likes talking crap. I was just SEVERELY under-whelmed at the food here, after seeking it out online.

“Gaba, yokogawa, Tokyo- ramen”
We went to the Gaba at Yokogawa. This is just north of the station of the same name. Turn right out of the north exit and go to the end of the road and turn left. Walk for 400 metres. The staff didn't speak English but pulled one of the chefs out, who could speak a few words. We ordered the pork ram...en, one spicy and one normal. We also had some gioza, and a beer. All of the food was excellent and the service friendly, and the price cheap. Almost all the people in the restaurant were Japanese, which is always a good sign. If you have the time this is a simple and fun experience.
“Best gyoza and good pork ramen we had.”
This lovely little ramen place has a limited English menu, but ordering was simple and the food was yummy. It was the best pork ramen and gyoza we had in Japan. Worth walking an extra block from the main shopping areas to eat here.
