I smelled a rat when we made the booking through our hotel as he asked for my nationality. I said British but I think anyone he could rip off, he would. He, being this macho *#@! of a manager of the place who had (luckily for his sorry character) some great young servers. We sat down and he quickl...y assigned an English-speaking waitress who was both informative and charming. First thing was to be offered whit cabbage salad at a cost of 190 yen. OK we thought. Firstly he tried to charge us more for the bottle of cheap red wine than his own price for a glass times six. I said no and he lowered the price but not much. We ordered rib (990 yen), tenderloin (1790 yen) and dragon skirt (1290 yen). The skirt came first and it was average and a weird cut which we scissored. Then the rib which was good. The tenderloin came and it was old left over chunks of beef and a lump of fat and gristle. I sent it back but got no apology as it was indefensible. The &*@#! manager then disappeared from sight. We did order more rib and skirt which was different each time (better each time which could have been the realisation working but who knows). The waitress made the evening and although they forgot to take off the tenderloin from the first attempt at the bill, we left fed and fed up with this regular bad service off people they think they can get one over on. Anyone considering this restaurant should think twice unless they have a Japanese host or mate around. The main thing to take away is that this manager is prize 'banker'.
