“value-for-money family restaurant”
Fiancé and I originally intended to lunch at Sushiro, but it was overly crowded with many in the waiting area, and so we chose to head to Yayoiken right next to Sushiro. Yayoiken was also well occupied (but not filled to the brim) with the lunch crowd, and had a steady flow of local customers coming... in throughout our visit. There are two ticket machines/counters at the front of the store, and both of them have options to display the choices in english. The counters require you to slot in your money, before you choose your food. Please make sure that you've made your final decision before actually selecting any food, as the money deduction is immediate per item you've chosen, and you will receive a ticket per item selected. The best way to do so is to make your decisions first, before slotting in any money and only clicking on the items after, to prevent accidentally buying the wrong item. I bought a mixed set (see photo) and my fiancé bought an oyakodon set with a draft beer, and the total price came up to 1980yen. Food was very delicious and generous in serving. The english menu mentioned that there's no refills of rice for some of the meal sets, but we did notice that there was a rice cooker that some customers could get more rice from for their sets. The service staff were great too. Although they did not speak much english, they tried to communicate some questions earnestly. Also, I had accidentally left my scarf behind. Within a minute, I returned to retrieve it and to my great surprise, the staff had already cleaned the table and stored my scarf aside in the lost and found basket neatly. They retrieved it for me immediately.
