“Best ice cream parfaits!!”
Fujiya is an old and well known chain of restaurants for families. This restaurant is located on the 13th floor of Tobu department store, in the area called "SPICE".in Ikebukuro. (The 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th floors are the restaurant floors called "SPICE".) We have tried this restaurant few... times, once for a lunch, which was very good, and the other times for iice cream parfaits. (They have menus at around 2000 yen, which include a meal and an ice cream parfait.) Their ice cream parfaits cost about 800 or 1000 yen. Their ice cream parfaits are very good, and there is no corn flakes like stuff at the bottom. In fact, in most other restaurants we know, there are corn flakes at the bottom of their parfait. So, you don't have as much ice cream as you would expect from the size of the parfait. By the way, their ice cream is not too sweet and good. They sometimes give you a coupon which will entitle you to a free small ice cream for your next visit. You can also collect stamps (500 yen spent for one stamp) on a card as in some other restaurants, and when the card is full, you can have one of the original goods of the restaurant, like a small tote bag, a small figure of Peko chan (symbole character of the chain). This restaurant is very popular and there may be a long queue of people at week-ends and during "peak" hours. As it is family oriented, there may be crying children. So, we prefer going there in the afternoon on a week day for a "late" dessert.

“Casual and Friendly Family Atmosphere”
Fujiya Restaurant has been a friendly family restaurant for many years in Japan. It seems to be busy all the time, but there is a bench at the entrance to sit and wait. After a short while you will be led to a table. My friend and I went there for afternoon tea and enjoyed the time together catch...ing up. So I went there again with another friend.
