全聚徳 新宿店

While 全聚德 is one of the most famous Beijing Duck chains in China, this has little to do with the original. The duck was dry and did not taste fresh (we chose the more expensive allegedly fresh duck). The crispiness was alright. If you have high expectations (or have tried Beijing Duck in Beijing bef...ore), do not go to this place. Overpriced for a below par experience.

The restaurant on the high floor, the ambient is excellent. The service is top notch, especially the manager, he is very helpful and friendly with full knowledge of the products he provide. When I have any question, he will explain the dishes patiently to me. He is very attentive make you feel so s...pecial. Well done. The food was good the shark fin soup is a must try dish since nowadays you cannot find the dish easily. The price is little high but worth the money. Highly recommended. When I go back to Tokyo I definitely will visit the restaurant again. Full mark for the manager, he is the only reason I come back.

Generous servings of Peking Duck carved at the table. All of the dishes on the course menu were tasty. Holiday lunchtime service was a bit slow, so it was a good thing we weren't in a hurry. Our two daughters like it, but it's too expensive for them to come on their own.

As usual, the sign was in Japanese. Fortunately, the picture of a duck gave us a hint - which turned out perfectly! 5:40 PM we were the only guests, but atmosphere was nice with music and delicate decoration. We got ourselves a nice couch and started with the menu. With only Japanese menu and low... level of English knowledge by the staff, we navigated to the Peking Duck by the pictures. 30 minutes later the chef arrived with the duck and started the slicing show. When he left the waiter took over making "duck packages". We are used to "pack" ourselves, but found it quite amusing. The duck tasted great and service was good throughout (as there were two people in the restaurant). Recommended - but stall your hunger if you want company in the restaurant. Fancy motorized toilet with door sensor by the way :)
