Ouverture is a hidden gem and since it is nestled in my neck of the woods, I have been stopping by over these past 17 years and I must say, Ouverture has maintained it's quality in all aspects. The beautiful James R Moder Chandeliers add a classy touch to the otherwise cozy & casual decor. It accomm...odates 26 people & may be a little too crammed (synonymous with restaurants in Tokyo) for some but definitely warm. The Chef infuses a lot of fresh, seasonal, local ingredients in his dishes & the presentation is exquisite. I make it a point to visit and sample the dishes on offer during different seasons and have never been disappointed so far. Ouverture definitely offers great value for money or as the locals say 'good cost pa.' They have set courses for lunch ranging from ¥1900 for a four course meal and ¥2700 for a five course meal (plus taxes). They have an à la carte menu, too. Don't expect luxury service because the servers seem to be part time employees but as you may have already experienced, the level of service in Japan is definitely polite and efficient. Without a doubt, one of the best French restaurants that I have been to. Amazing presentation of the food and unique and intricate taste - just sublime! The set menu was very affordable at 2052 yen (including tax) and that was a four course meal. The restaurant was very comfortable although no En...glish, but with the help of Google Translate you should be able to order with no problem. The restuarant is only a 7 minute walk from Otsuka Station (Yamanote Line).
