“Not great indian food lacks any real authentic flavours”
Disappointed, treated like a tourist. Food flavours were average, no attempt to copy authentic indian food. The quantities were insufficient 3 small pieces of chicken in a soup mixture in a very small bowl does not beckon us to return. Quick turnover but no real quality. Salad served was tired as... well. Not memorable.

“Fast service, Convenient location inside Shinagawa Stn”
We had ~30 minutes to kill before our train to Narita & chanced upon this gem 1-level up from the bustling station-shop level... Friendly staff, great menu variety, fast & efficient service.. Will definitely go back each time I have 30min to spare when transiting Shinagawa !!

“Compared to the Indian Cuisine I'm used to this was pretty poor.”
Coming from the United Kingdom (where Indian Food is one of the nations favourite types of cuisine) I have eaten in many Indian Restaurants... Compared to the standard and selection of Indian dishes I am therefore accustomed to the food at "Sitaara Diner" in Shinagawa was I'm sorry to say pretty poo...r. The restaurant is more like an open fronted café, with quite small tables so you felt cramped whilst eating. The service was friendly and efficient but the choice on the menu was very limited compared to what I would expect at an Indian Restaurant. There were a basic selection of curries to choose from (1 fish curry, 1 lamb curry, 2 chicken curries (butter chicken and spicy chicken), and about 3 vegetable curries). There are lots of Naan and about 4 types of rice dish and then a selection of side dishes. We had the Spicy Chicken Curry, which was pretty average, and the Butter Chicken Curry which was again quite poor. The Naan breads are made and cooked fresh on the premises (see my photo of them being made) and these were probably the best part of the meal. Although the sides of Chicken Tikka, Tandoori Chicken, Malai Chicken and Onion Bhajee's were okay and had more flavour than the curries. With a couple of 500ml draught beers the total bill came to JPY6,510 (circa GB£35) which for 2 people was okay value I suppose for Tokyo. In short we would not come here again and if this is one of the better Indian Restaurants in Tokyo (as some of the other reviews state) I would stick to eating Japanese food and go visit Birmingham in the UK where you can get a really awesome curry!
