“Awful tourist trap and joke of japanese cuisine”
I am so baffled by the positive rating on this pub/restaurant. First of all, it was filled with tourists only which was already a big red flag. It was super loud and penetrating. I knew it was a tourist trip once I saw that they served french fries lol. The food we ordered came out 1 by 1 every 10... minutes. My party of 7 was not able to eat together since some got their meal super early, some got part of their meal, some didn’t get anything and because it was going to become cold some started eating. Now the taste of the food… The tempura I ordered was an absolute joke to japanese cuisine I‘ve even had better in SWITZERLAND. Do not come here if you actually appreciate food and want to experience authentic japanese cuisine.

“Excellent and easy location.”
Beautiful fresh delicious food. Wide variety on menu with the usual suspects such as tempura, noodle dishes, steak, sashimi; suitable for all including families. Great service. Gorgeous decoration and quite spacious.

“Mayday mayday”
Probably the worst ever restaurant of my life. Really, don’t go there, I don’t even understand how it gets good reviews, this is a total mess from beginning to the end.. I am not joking, we are not even difficult people but we know when it is wrong, and we can say for sure it is not a good restauran...t. At least we had a good laugh at every dish ! We had the « all you can drink » as well, I guess it was necessary to forget what just happened tonight. (Drinks, apart from beers are basically water + something else) I am so sorry for them but I can’t put less than one star.

“Great Food in Pontocho Alley”
Great food, great service and reasonable price considering the tourist location. We ate a lot to be fair; mixed sashimi, mixed meat tempura, large prawn tempura with a couple of sides & 2 drinks each. Cannot fault any of it & thoroughly enjoyed it. They open at 17:00 in the evening and we were lucky... they could fit us in as by 6pm they were turning away walk-in customers. Testament to their food though. All in all, would definitely recommend it
