“A Gem of a Kushikatsu Bar”
We chanced on this tiny, friendly, wonderful kushikatsu bar while sightseeing in Umeda. For those who do not know, kushikatsu is one of the characteristic food styles of Osaka, and this place really is exceptionally good at them. The place is tiny and you may have to queue to get in; but if you can ...get a seat at the serving bar you are in for a treat. The cheerful proprietor (Mr Inada) engages in banter in English and stayed open after kushikatsu sticks that are speedily and expertly prepared. We had draft beer with our lunch but clearly Mr Inada knows a good deal about wine as the bottles waiting to be opened are of good quality. Overall this has been one of the finds of our trip to Japan. Wonderful!
