“Good but not outstanding”
Very hard to find (down a staircase in a building with no signs anywhere, second entrance to your right in said underground hallway… once again, with no signs). The atmosphere is casual and we only saw locals there which is a good sign. The food made infront of you and it is good but not as memorabl...e as other restaurants we tried in Japan.

“Can’t say enough about this place”
I echo everything from the 5 star reviews before mine. I was greeted warmly and treated well. Efforts were made to explain each piece and its accompaniments in English. The cold bottles jasmine tea was delicious. It seems that some reviews mention a set menu. This is no longer the case. Omakase cont...inues until you indicate that you are full and afterwards rice, soup, and tea are served so don’t wait until you’re totally stuffed to indicate that you’re full! Such an intimate and lovely setting and every piece was special in its own way. Restaurant is in the basement of the complex it’s address will take you too. It will be helpful if you ask your concierge to give you a map and a picture of the sign as it can be challenging to find (there are quite a few restaurants on different levels of the same building).

“Top quality Michelin star restaurant”
Typical Kushikatsu served in the top place in Osaka. Fresh, delicious, amazing... We had like 16 skwer set, every new dish was new, amazing experience. King crabs, beef, foie gras, uni, caviar... important to make reservation in advance. Great atmosphere, highly recommended.

“Amazing Uni and Foie Gras!”
We managed to make a reservation with this amazing restaurant via a Japanese Website using Google Translate which we luckily did as there are usually fully booked. I have never experience Kuchikatsu and was wondering if it was worth the money has everything is just skewered and fried. Boy, are we ...wrong! Every single skewers had their own different taste profile. The airy light batter managed to seal in the moisture and the different dips recommended by the chefs goes so well with every single one of them. This was also the first time i have tried Uni as well as Horse meat. I have never tasted better asparagus. Its a wonder how they can make giant asparagus unto the texture of avacados! We had initially ordered the Ikushima intake course 16 skewers set. We ended up ordering more because it was so good! Excellent service. The chefs all made effort to explain every dish to us in English and we felt very welcome!

“Extraordinary ”
If you think of kushikatsu as boring, you haven’t eaten here. The omakase course includes unexpected skewers like king crab leg (a revelation), wagyu beef, asparagus and uni. Everything is exceptional.
