“Cozy and warm Restaurant with taste”
After a visit to Chion-In Temple, we were cold and hungry. This subtle but warmth of this restaurant's service and food really impressed us. Every dish had its style and was presented beautifully. The dinning experience expanded beyond taste but visual enjoyment as well.

“Surly staff”
Traditional restaurant with private room for 18 of us but slightly spoiled by staff being less welcoming than normal japanese standards . Not particularly good value.

“Average meal”
My daughter wanted to try a Kaiseki meal for her birthday. Since we were planning to be in the area, we stopped in. There was only one other party in the restaurant, in a private room. We ordered the 13 course Kaiseki, anticipating a treat similar to a food tour that we had last week in Tokyo. We we...re presented with the full 13 courses (appetizers, clear broth, grilled dish), but no explanation of what they were. Of course we are in Japan, and they shouldn't have to speak English, but having in in Japanese would work too (I could have a friend translate after the fact.) Lastly, there seemed to be little to no seasoning of the food. I'm not an expert on Japanese food, but this was bland (and other meals that I've had during my stay in Japan have been delightful.)

“A side trip from visit to Chion In”
This park was lovely during sakura season but we also enjoy the new year eve fair at the park. There were many food and gift stalls which lasted two weeks during new year time.

“Unforgettable good taste”
Try their Kaiseki! It's so good everything is so fresh, and tastes unforgettably nice. This is a cozy little restaurant, very close to the shrine. The Kaiseki combination includes a lot of representative traditional Japanese dishes. The flavor is well reserved for meat(fish) and vegetables. I'm lite...rally speechless after tasting most of the dishes. Not cheap, but definitely worth it.
