“Overpriced mediocre beef other inexperienced “chef””
On this trip we’ve had Omi beef, Hida beef, Matsusaka beef, Hirai beef, and Murasawa beef (phantom beef) and this Kobe beef was by far the worst. The restaurant itself is on the 8th floor. Misono claims to be the first teppanyaki restaurant. We made reservations in advance but the place was not full... at all when we came for dinner on a Sunday night. We opted for one of the course meals which included seafood, vegetables, and Kobe steak. We were assigned a “chef” who was extremely inexperienced. The result was overcooked grilled fish and scallops and overcooked beef! She over handled the beef because it took her forever to slice and flip the beef. We even asked her to cook it less but it was too late to save the beef. In addition, the beef just wasn’t juicy and delicious like all the other beef we had. The garlic was drowned in oil. The only good part of the meal was the crispy salad. To top it off, it was the MOST expensive meal we had in Japan so far. We paid $200 per person. In comparison, the phantom beef was less than $50 per person and was infinitely better. Before coming to Japan this time, I already didn’t like Kobe beef compared to the other Wagyu I’ve had before. I will never know if it was because our chef didn’t know how to cook, or if the beef itself just wasn’t as good. However, if you’re going to charge people this much money, it’s outright disrespectful to have a “chef” who can’t cook.

“Juicy & Tender Kobe & Wakyu steak but pricy”
Kobe Misano is on the 5th floor of Aoyama building. You must look for a sign in directory board and in the lift. The atmosphere of the restaurant is quiet dark decided in to small room fitting 8-10 people or an open area table somewhat feel like Chinese restaurant to me. There are a few menu set cat...egorized by quality, type, and weight of meat, i.e. Wakyu, Kobe, price starting from around ¥15,000 to ¥30-40-50,000 per set. Salad, soup, dessert are included in the set menu. Our Chef is originally from Turkey and thus have no problem to chat with foriegn customers. My wife and I found that the basic ¥ 14,x00 Wakyu just taste almost good as Kobe with much less price. Anyway the steak, cooked tepanyaki style, cut in to small pieces, good soft &tendered as it should be. Left over small shred meat from a cut is also cooked longer till it reach brown color serve with lots of grilled garlic and veggies, mainly bean sprout. My only complained is that it is pricy!

“Beautiful meals”
The meal was fantastic and the beef was unbelievable. Our chef was great, too. It could be difficult to find the place. Better get a reservation. Be ready for a heavy duty bill.

“A very Expensive but Worthwhile Experience”
The dinner service was rather expensive but we opted to try anyway. Ordered the Misono Kobe Beef Set and the beef was fantastic. This was about the best tenderness of any beef consumed previously. Can't have this everyday but would definitely have this when next in Kobe again.

“Rip off”
Sadly this was a very poor restaurant with no atmosphere, little service and mediocre food. We have had teppanyaki in three other cities in Japan and each was marvelous. This felt cheap despite the VERY high cost of the meal to us. There must be much better places to experience Kobe beef in Kobe.
