焼肉ハウス 大滝

This was a random pick from Google but I think we struck gold with this amazing Yakiniku not too far from Chinatown. We arrived without a reservation, to find it full and had to take a private (chargeable) room. We didn’t mind although the rooms are very small and mildly claustrophobic. The Japanese... hospitality and quality service was out in full force that evening and we felt very well taken care of. We ordered an assortment of beef & pork cuts, organs and vegetables to grill. We found the skirt steak to be somehow the very best in terms of flavour, texture and marbling (of which it was very well-endowed). The sliced marbled pork and thick-cut salted tongue were good too. Even the humble shaved cabbage salad was excellent with a very umami tasting wafu dressing. The meat quality was altogether high. Service was unquestionably efficient and very cordial. While the prices are fairly premium, it was a very satisfying and filling meal. It worked out to be USD75 per pax including beer. We do not have any hesitation recommending this Yakiniku.
