Being a non Japanese speaker its really hard to find a good Japanese restaurant to try the authentic Japanese food. Thanks to my previous reviewer I had a chance to visit this restaurant. They had a Menu in English with a wide variety of food available. I gota a chance to try the typical Japanese fo...od like Sushi, sumibiyaki (Skewered food cooked on coal). I even got a chance to try the hot Sake beverage that was served on a cute little porcelain container with a lid thats also used to dring from. The price was also reasonable. So in case if you are a foreigner and wanna try the Japanese food, you can come to Tachikawa. The restaurant is pretty close to the Metro as well.

This is one of my favourite places to visit. I am torn writing this review - this is such a great place that it deserves to be known, but at the same time - I'd like to keep it one of my little secrets! If you're in the Tokyo area, it's worth making the trip to Tachikawa station for your evening m...eal and beverage selection. It's less than a two minute walk from the station - the only trick is there are three restaurants in the vicinity with the "Tamagawa" name, so make sure you're going to "Shunsai Sumiyaki Tamagawa." They offer booths, small tables and bar seating around the kitchen area. So whether you want hang with some friends, sit with a pal, or kick it solo - they have a spot for you. If you're looking for a nice relaxed atmosphere with great food and bevies, then head on down - I'm sure you'll appreciate this place as much as I do. If you're looking for something wild and crazy - please go somewhere else - I don't want you to ruin this place for me when I visit! They have an English menu available and trust me - you are going to be surprised by the remarkably wide selection of foods to choose from: Sushi, sumibiyaki (variety of skewered things cooked over hot coals - squid, chicken, fish, tomato wrapped in bacon, green pepper, cheese sticks, etc.), salads, noodles, vegetables, fish, chicken, the list goes on and on! There is even raw horse meat for the adventurous amongst you! Sit by the bar and you can watch the three or more chefs at work in their specialized area. Their drink menu is just as varied as their food menu so there's something available for any pallet. My personal favourite is the Half & Half Yebisu, but make sure you also try the special Yebisu beer available at only 20 select restaurants in Japan. Oishi! Yokatta!
