“Tasty Turkish in Akasaka”
Saray Akasaka is a Turkish restaurant in Akasaka (it seems there is also another restaurant in Shinjuku). The ambiance is about what one would expect, traditional-esque, small interior in a downstairs restaurant. We ordered Turkish bread, Iskender kebab, chicken shish kebab, hummus, and Turkish meat... and cheese pizza. Overall, everything was decent, although the hummus was pretty mediocre, and if I have any criticism I would say the food could have been fresher. Service was good, the waiter was very friendly, and while in typical Japanese restaurant you had to call the server to get their attention, he did come running every time (and to be fair he was staffing the dining room by himself). Overall I would definitely go back, but probably try some different items. They are also on Uber eats, and I think I may be more interested in their delivery menu than their in-dining restaurant menu.

“Worst Turkish food in Tokyo (or any where in the world)”
This review is written by a Turkish customer. I am very disappointed with the lunch my family had at Saray. This was my first time at Saray, I hate to tell I am deeply deceived by the high reviews at TripAdvisor. Of course, I am not expecting something extraordinary while this is in Tokyo but rathe...r the previous reviewers had never eaten any Turkish food before or they have no idea about Turkish cuisine. I ordered Iskender and my wife ordered beef donner. Both were “THE” worst iskender and donner we have ever had in our lives. 2 hours after our lunch I also had massive stomach ache which never happened to me before. Define toy due to our lunch! I give 1.5 starts /5 just because waiters were nice. However, I would never go there again nor recommend anyone. Still looking for a decent Turkish restaurant in Tokyo and have not found one!

“I’ve been there for meal”
It was an good experience I like this place. It smells good I like the food and the service all workers are so good I wanna go to saray every time i visit akasaka.

“A bit overpriced for what it is”
The food was okay, a bit too greasy, the lentil soup was nice, however, not very good value compared to Turkish restaurants in London, but a very good option if you are looking for halal food in Tokyo.
