“Tried to be seated (2 separate days) and was basically refused”
The title says it all. It was seemingly polite but we were clearly unwanted twice. The hostess let us sign up for the list but then basically told us she cannot let us in and outside it will rain and basically seemed relieved when we left. The first time was an even flimsier excuse. It’s possible th...at as tourists we are not the target audience but still… we will not be trying again.

“Excellent”
A good option for a relatively quick dinner. The beef was excellent, as was the chicken. A local spot, very busy during lunch. Reasonably priced

“Great Food and beer”
We enjoyed two meals here, the food was fresh, healthy and delicious. We also enjoyed their own 1899 sake and the matcha beer. The service was friendly and prompt. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

“Clever and Different Food”
We stayed at the Hotel and dined here twice- the food is different from usual and involves the use of "green tea" in every dish. However it wasn't an overwhelming flavour and seemed to complement the freshness of the food. Very fresh and clean flavours. We especially appreciated the beef grilled wit...h leek - superb. Curiously for a laugh we tried the "Yoshi Sparkling Chardonnay- japanese wine" . It was a fabulous aperitif- light, fruity and citrus like. Delicious so we had this every night before we went out! The vegetables with dipping sauce were good, the pizza with vegetables a little unusual with mainly salad on a pizza base. The fish in broth very good and clean. All over we like this as it wasn't greasy and had perfect cooking and presentation. Amalgamation of japanese and Western styles but don't forget that green tea!

“Lovely lunch - outside dining opportunity”
We stayed at the adjoining hotel for 5 days and so took the chance to have lunch. Food beautifully presented and excellent. Glass of wine good! Sun shining and outside tables. Staff charming and we all coped - sorry very limited Japanese from our end but English menus. In fact we found the food... and surroundings good and convenient enough to visit twice! I'd also say all food during our few weeks stay in Japan was excellent and I still remember these meals for all the right reasons - must be good!
