i went alone but had problems getting a mobile phone to use ein japan. i had to return one and the one i ended up with was stolen that night! unusual for japan. it was a bit of a nightmare tripwith alot of my things beimg stolen .to get a reference was almost impossible. i lost keys and return fligh...t tickets too. in a pod hotel. big camera was exhausting and not good value.i ended up with still no phone a smy british one had been lost also! it was difficult so i had to cut short my trip.oh well

My husband and I visited the store a couple of times. It has loads of floors and has everything you could possibly want from electronics to gadgets. We loved the variety of items they had and the prices were also good. As a foreigner you get a price less the tax on purchases over 10, 000 yuen and if... you pay by a visa card you also receive 5% discount. A word of caution, we live in Europe and have visa cards with chip and pin. The japanese stores when they put a transaction through the machine select an option that requires you to sign for your purchase with signature so on a chip and pin card this doesn't work. After two unsuccessful attempts with multiple visa, mastercard and plastic I called my bank from the hotel and they explained that the problem. Have patience if this happens to you. Explain to the store assistant that you require *(password is what they call pin number) and that they need to action this when they put the transaction through at the till. Oh and don't forget you also need to show your passport to qualify for the tax free point and visa point i made above. They will staple your receipt in a section in your passport and when you are at the airport to leave they will remove this at the tax free counter. But all in all worth a visit, the store is packed with people buying electronics. I have never seen such a variety of things. There were over 200 pairs of headphones all ranging in price and quantity. I would suggest you do your research on what you want to buy and then go here and get everything you need in one go.
