This stunningly beautiful and tranquil setting in the mountains is so deserving of many return visits--if only for the serene setting alone with a babbling stream below beautiful traditional tatami dining rooms with overlooking balconies. But as beautiful as the setting and ambience may be--these a...re eclipsed by the astoundingly tasty, fresh, and impeccably presented unagi kabayaki meals. Japanese fresh water eels are prized for their taste and few places can offer them as fresh (literally plucked from the stream) or as perfectly fire roasted as here. You are strongly urged to also try the pristine koi (carp) sashimi--a true delicacy. This place may be a little difficult to find but you have not truly experienced rustic "real' Japanese cuisine until you have visited places like this!
