trattoria UGO（トラットリア ウーゴ）

The food was really good. This was one of the best restaurants where we ate in Japan. They where very friendly, kind and you can see, feel and taste they are passionate about what they cook. Also they take the time to have a conversation with you. The only con is that the price is higher compared to... other Japanese restaurants, but it is worth it!

While visiting Nagasaki with our familiy, we went to a tiny Yakitori and startet chatting with the couple next to us. We also asked them for advice for a place we could go for dinner to celebrate a birthday. They discussed in Japanese and told us after a while, that they were chef of an Italian rest...aurant in Nagasaki and offered to cook a menu for us. The next day we visited their Trattoria Ugo - and were highly delighted! Our two daughters enjoyed a 4 course vegetarian menu and for us adults there was a fantastic 7 course menu. E perfect fusion between seasonal Japanese fish, seafood, meat and veggies and Italian dishes. Good wine inclusive. The two hosts were extremely kind and attentive. Simply a beautiful experience. Thank you so much!

Amazing food and a delightful, intimate space for a gathering. We were a group of friends visiting from Tokyo. On a recommendation of a friend, we decided to try this restaurant. We were not disappointed. We shared that we had two vegetarians in the group and the chef and his wife accommodated our r...equest. The courses were absolutely delicious. As this restaurant is small, you will want to call ahead if you have any special food requirements. A definite place to visit.

A friend recommended this restaurant, and after working in Nagasaki previously for a few years(And they kept this gem as a secret) it was about time for a visit now when we returned back from vacation. 5course dinner is 7000yen, not bad when you see what you get. You need to reserve, and you can th...en inform the staff about allergies/things you don’t like to much. Lovely staff as well. Nice wine selection.... What more can I say?

I first found this restaurant in March 2013 by accident. And I've never regretted, and this have been my favorite restaurant in Nagasaki since. The first thing that meet you are the chef "Ugo" and his wonderful wife. Normally they don`t have normal menu. Just go for the chef recommendation! You w...ill have food experience of your life! If you like wine, they will serve you organic wine! That will match your food. If you are one or two people I will recommend to sit at the "bar" then you could chat with the chef during the "pauses" when he prepare the food! Tips when in Nagasaki, buy a glass of wine or a drink to the chef or bartender! You will not get special service, but a experience of your life time (Stories, friend and happy faces)
