“What a hidden gem of fine dining”
My family and I were treated to a meal here by one of our friends. The food was some of the best I have ever eaten. Two of us had the swordfish and three of us had the succulent pork. Both were delicious. The pork taste better than any pork I have ever eaten - not dry, not fried, not fatty, just... moist and almost melt-in-your mouth. I would have been hard-pressed to identify it as pork if I had not known what had been ordered. The swordfish was equally delicious, and did not taste fishy at all. All the sides were also fine. My two granddaughters were turned off by the vinegar drinks - both the apple vinegar premeal drink and the post meal pineapple vinegar drink. That was all fine and good, too, as my wife and I got their drinks and they had water. The service is top-notch, but the English that our waiter spoke did not sound like anything that I could understand. Fortunately, we also speak Japanese. Lunch starts at 11 am and we were there soon thereafter, and before a large tour group stopped in. I suggest getting there before noon. This is not a cheap restaurant, the main lunch meals were 2500 yen, and the swordfish was 3500 yen. If you like fine food, it is worth the price. The view of the Kinko Bay, and of the clay pots where the vinegar is fermented are additional pluses for the restaurant. I heartily recommend Kurozu Restaurant Kakuida to anyone interested in fine meals in the area. We stopped by on the way from Kanoya City to the Kagoshima airport where my wife and two grandaughters departed for a return to the United States. This was a highlight of their visit.

“Restaurant specialising in vinegar cooked food and interesting shop selling vinegar and products”
This place is very commercialised with a huge carpark , restaurant serving delicious no 1 beef cooked in Vinegar (3300yen ) with soup , salad , appetiser and desert or the famous black pork also cooked in vinegar (2500 yen) , a shop selling all the various vinegar and a backyard with all the urns s...toring vinegar . What is smart about this place is that there are shop assistants speaking Mandarin , English etc to help you out . A must visit to eat and try the vinegar if you are in the area.

The surroundings are very nice, the food excellent, the prices reasonable. And the best vinegar in Japan.

“Excellent”
Excellent, nice view, extremely delicious food, great atmosphere and really great value for money. The black vinegar was also fantastic. No one should miss this restaurant.

“Good lunch in a special environment! ”
The sweet aroma from the sake was one of the key attraction. They had hundreds of jars under the sun just outside the restaurant. This with the back drop of sakurajima found a scenic picture for diners! Food in the restaurant was very good and reasonable. Worth making a trip there if you are in Ka...goshima!
