While the food was decent the smokers and dusty ceiling were not appealing. We sat on old Orion kegs in this basement level restaurant. We ordered food that was locally inspired. The bitter melon was good with lots of white pepper. I liked that. The pork belly was aloos a nice portion and yummy. We ...also liked the purple yam croquettes.The service was fast and polite. Mostly young wait staff that only spoke Japanese. Then we observed a table next to us smoking cigarettes. Quite a distraction as it makes it hard for us to enjoy a meal when typically this is illegal and inconsiderate. Then we looked up and saw the ceiling. Full of mold and dust. But it wasn’t just there on the ceiling, The walls too were in dire need of cleaning. You’d think a tourist section would have a sense of pride in making a good impression. This was almost embarrassing to even mention.
