The shabu shabu of their own black Agu pork was easily the best Japanese hotpot style meal we have ever had. The pork just bursts with flavour and seems to melt in your mouth. The seaweed is harvested a 100 metres offshore, all the other ingredients like okra, Chinese cabbage, mushrooms etc are gro...wn and harvested within 100 meters of where you sit. Even the salt is locally produced from the ocean next to the restaurant. The chef oozes passion and delivers the meal with wry Okinawan humour that delights in amusing you whilst tantalising the taste buds. The stock is produced with no added salt or soy sauce to his own naturally secret recipe and is so delicious. The soup made by the meal and traditionally consumed at end was the crowning piece. Only negative was their online booking system sucks as you can only book if you enter Japanese characters into their online system. I actually added a Japanese keyboard to do that but even that did not work. We literally turned up first night as there appeared to be space but place is tiny so was booked out so we took a chance and booked in person for following night. Am so glad we did a true farm to table gourmet experience.

“Lovely Meal, Would Return!”
Had a great meal as a family of 4 (1 elderly and a 2.5 y.o. toddler), dining on local Agu pork and homegrown produce. The atmosphere was relaxing and refreshing: quiet with a lovely seafront view, a good breeze, and the sound and sight of the tide's splash under starry skies. The chef-owner and hi...s small team do not speak much English but were pleasant and we communicated effectively using Google Translate. The food was undoubtedly good, the chef is experienced and passionate about his ingredients--overall, a high-quality meal that offers warm and homey comfort. The restaurant is a clear labour of love, with the chef-owner having built a comfortable and thoughtful space from scratch. A portion of meal proceeds also goes towards the coral reef conservation group that he is a part of, making it especially meaningful. Would definitely come back the next time we are in Okinawa.
