We stumbled across this place by accident if we are honest. Landed and needed some food before bed. From the outside, it looks like nothing. You take an elevator up to the third floor and then prepare to be amazed. Great food, good value and friendly staff!

Kushinobo is a Japanese style restaurant featuring lightly deep fried skewers of many kinds like pork, fish, shrimp and vegetables. This stuff is very very tasty and is called “kushiage”, pronounced like "koo she ah gay". Kushinobo is located in the Ginza, on the third floor of a building a few bl...ocks away from the Ginza subway station (down the street from the Armani store). I thought the food and service were excellent, and at lunch time this is a very good value. I had eight very good mixed skewers, salad, rice and tea, all for JPY 1080. At dinner the prices are higher, but what a great place for a simple tasty lunch. They have an English memo, so don’t worry about the language barrier. The only difficult part if you are a foreigner is finding the place. I looked it up on line, and found my way there using google maps. I had to guess I was in the right place because they did not have the restaurant name in English on the building outside . The name is listed on the elevator wall and written as “Kushinobou”.

I have been to this place at two separate trips to Tokyo and loved it each time! The concept of this place is that you are served food on sticks, mainly fried dishes of different kind of seafood, meat or vegetables etc. You are given new sticks one by one until you feel to full to eat more and say... "stop". They have such a big assortment of dishes that I believe it is impossible to go through a whole round! All sticks that I have eaten have been delicious! (Off course you will have some favourite ones.) I recommend to sit by the bar and see how the chefs are cooking the food, this gives you a more interactive experience. Also they can tell you what food your actually getting served.
