“Chinese Food with Simple Elegance, Great Value”
This place is truly a hidden gem. While the Tennozu Isle area is busy during the weekdays, on the weekends it's quiet and relaxed. In attempting to attract more weekend clientele, Tentsusaikan offers a special half course only on the weekends. Where in Tokyo can you find a nice place to eat where th...ey lower the prices on the weekends?!! I recommend making a reservation and telling them you want this specaial weekend half course for 2,100 yen per person (does not include drinks but does include a small dessert). Since it's a half course, each of the several courses is small, but towards the end of the meal each person receives their choice of fried noodles and vegetables or fried rice and the portion is definately NOT half (it's quite generous). None of us were able to finish off all of the fried rice and noodles. You will not leave feeling hungry, that's for sure. Everything we had was very good and it was clear that the chef likes to add new Japanese touches to traditional Chinese dishes which is both tasty and fun. Setting: This place is situated on the second floor of a new office building with nice long windows that give good views of the landscape and the picturesque boardwalk and canal outside. It's just a couple minutes walk from T.Y. Harbor. Cloth napkins and simple but chic interior---quiet and relaxed. Will definitely come again.
