“Family friendly, delicious and delicious”
The sukiyaki set was very good, both of the high quality and top quality beef will blow your mind. They are not cheap but well worth it. The service was good and the staff were friendly.

“Zero service”
Been to many sukiyaki restaurants in Japan . Never would the waiters tell the clients to cook their own beef. This is a new low

“Our favourite sukiyaki meal in Tokyo ”
We were there at lunch a week ago and decided to have dinner there as it is our favourite sukiyaki restaurant. We took a set dinner which comprised an excellent starter/appetisers before the main beef course. Great sake to compliment the meal. Dessert was great too. The service staff was excellent. ...Need to book in advance. Thanks.

“Fantastic Experience Despite the Queue”
After a long day, the partner and I longed for a warm, hearty dinner that would fill our stomachs and our soul. All the restaurants at Takashimaya Shinjuku had long queues, but we decided on Imahan. We joined the queue around 8PM, and already they were sold out of their "courses". These usually inc...orporate sashimi, dessert, along with the main course, and have a very value-for-money option in the form of "a course for two". That did not deter us however, as their regular menu was still available. We were seated at our table around 9PM (you are seated outside during the queue), and the regular menu consisted of a choice between Sukiyaki, Shabu-Shabu or a steak, and between "High-Quality Beef" and "Top Quality Beef". We chose the sukiyaki, top quality beef option. A lady then started preparing the table with the shallow pan, sukiyaki sauce and water, the utensils she will use as well as your meal. You are given an appetiser while the pan heats up. We found it slightly awkward to chat and eat with the lady at the table, but we got used to it after a while; she's not always there, as she leaves the ingredients that require a longer cooking time to simmer. The beef was amazing, very well cooked and seasoned with the sukiyaki sauce. She mixes the cooked beef in a dish of raw egg and offers it to you to enjoy. The vegetables are then added and left to simmer. This process repeats until you are done with the mains, and the meal finishes off with what I can only describe as scrambled egg in the sukiyaki sauce served on top of rice. Unbelievable service, they were always patient despite our very partial understanding of Japanese, always attentive and extremely professional. The restaurant is quiet, and very suitable for a business setting as well. Wherever you are seated, there are blinds separating you from the other tables, so it always feels fairly private. If you find yourself in Shinjuku craving for a quiet, recuperative meal, do consider Imahan.
