Post-modern, dim atmosphere. European food at a price. Hip 30-somethings of Nihombashi and the surrounding areas come here. The restaurant closes early but the bar is open until 29 o'clock.

I haven't been here in years and I decided to come by to check it out!! It hasn't changed on the inside which is lovely as it did feel familiar and pleasant.... What I was looking for.

Good for special occasions- really live the kumquats hand crushed into a cocktail and very good good- though it's a bit expensive. Lunch buffet not that good.

We stumbled upon XEX bar, having had a wonderful sushi meal at Seamon (located in the same building) earlier. I should start by saying, this was our (my husband & I) first ever trip to Tokyo, so I'm absolutely no expert on nightlife and drinking spots. I imagine you'd need to live there for months ...before really knowing where's trendy and I'm sure it changes constantly. But, we found as a general trend that the Japanese aren't fond of late night drinking, so finding a chic spot for a nightcap was always a challenge for us. And I'm talking post 11pm, not the small hours of the morning. XEX bar, then, was a welcome find. A dark-lit lounge bar with live jazz, a range of cocktails and cigars and friendly staff (that said - staff in Japan are nearly all friendly) we spent a happy couple of hours digesting our dinner and soaking up the ambience. Recommended for any visitors in search of a nightcap.

Restaurant has a wonderful view and the pizza was great. However, it is quite expensive. We each had a small glass of house red at what we thought was ¥1600 each, however, there was a small Japanese symbol which meant 'from' and it was actually ¥1900. Expensive glass of Italian wine. Pizza was ¥...2200 and the cover charge was ¥1000. Very busy so obviously a popular place to eat.
