みのきち 新宿住友ビル店

Apparently founded in kyoto 310 years ago. We had the set menu with sashimi, cooked dishes and sea bream rice. It was good but not knock your socks off great. Ok service (they got a few drink orders wrong)

A culinarily feast made of multiple small courses of exquisitely presented dishes, each looking like a work of art and tasting delicious. Lots of seafood, melt in your mouth sashimi and a wonderful array of vegetables, topped off by dessert and fruit. There was a choice of drinks on a card in Englis...h. Service was in traditional dress and was polite and efficient. Great views from the window. Would highly recommend this experience.

Food was beautiful! Each dishe looks like art and the restaurant have more than 300 years tradition. OMG! I highly recommend!

A great experience. Very Japanese. The language gap, as do not speak Japanese, was hard, but we ordered one of three set dinners without understanding what we ordered. Course after course came into our private room. Much seafood including lobster and fugo (who knew). Drank lots of sake. Good ti...me.

Traditional Kyoto restaurant, served by an extremely polite kimono dressed waitress, who explained all the dishes to us (in English) thoroughly. She also performed a tea making ceremony and once we were finished she walked us down to the lobby and pointed us in the direction for our walk home. We ha...d our own private room with a view overlooking the night lights of Tokyo (from 48th floor). It was a really nice experience, however the food was a little mature for our undeveloped tastebuds (abalone, eel, shark fin, liver etc). The waitress picked up on this quite early and tried to adjust the menu accordingly. Minokichi is worth a try for the experience but if we had our time again we would have chosen the cheapest set menu.
