“Good ribs and apple pie”
Shutters is definitely not Italian food, so not sure why someone called it that. The main feature is pork ribs, with your choice of a few flavors like soy sauce, salt pepper, garlic, basil, mustard, ketchup. Wasabi, or mayonnaise. (In Japanese, しょうゆ・塩こしょう・ガーリック・マスタード, ケチャップ・マヨネーズ・わさび・バジル味). Other th...an the soy sauce ribs you can order half and half. One order is four decent sized ribs. The meat is very tender and almost falls off the bones. Of course, they have a good selection of other items too and salads can be ordered small or large sized. We had the spinach with bacon salad and shared a dish of vongole pasta. Leave room for their apple pie a la mode with your choice of sauce toppings. I had the caramel sauce, but the cinnamon sauce at the next table looked good too. Service is decent, but you have to ask for water. Beer and wine available - small selection, but adequate as we were there for lunch. They have a private dining room on the third floor for groups of four to six. Eight if you really squeeze in tight.
