It’s my second visit to the restaurant and both times have been delightful. It is considerably more expensive compared to a regular meal at a standing sushi bar or ramen place, but it does give you an interesting dining experience. I opted for the set meal that included appetizers, hot pot, sides, p...orridge and dessert. The food is great and value for the dollars spent.

On my first trip to Japan I took with me a list of foods I had to eat and the first item was fugu (pufferfish). After doing some research I came across Torofugutei which seemed to offer high quality yet affordable pufferfish delicacies, plus it was near my hostel! It was easy to find - right on on...e of the main streets just outside of Asakusa proper. I popped in around 11:30am and was shown to a private table tucked in a corner toward the back of the restaurant. My waiter astutely presumed I didn't speak Japanese and so brought me an English menu with clear photographs so I knew exactly what to expect when I ordered. He came back with a hot cloth and some green tea. I ordered (by pointing to a picture in the menu) the Tiger Pufferfish Lunch Special which came with sashimi, fried fugu, a hot pot, and a small bowl of miso soup. It was a feast! But I wouldn't recommend splitting it with a friend, unless both of you are just in the mood for a snack. I also ordered the Pufferfish Fin Sake which is set on fire at the table. Be careful, though, it's piping hot (as you might imagine) but not only that, it's also really strong. Also, it does indeed come with a Pufferfish Fin as a garnish. Overall, it was a delicious and soothing experience that I highly recommend to anyone who wants to try something a little different while in Japan.

This tiger blowfish is prepared by highly skilled and experienced chef. Nowhere else you can get this tiger blowfish so fresh and still twitching on the plate when served. What an amazing Japanese delicacy.

Fugu Fish or more familiar name Puffer Fish is only safe to eat in japan perhaps with an expert chef to get rid of the poisonese part of the fish. For 5800 ¥,a set for two with choices of sashimi,fried skin,shabu shabu of fugu fish.i have every year im in japan.
