“Decent Soba in ambiance designed to drive traffic. Satisfying.”
CASH ONLY. Popular for lunch - arrive early to miss line. We 2 had lunch. FOOD: 4.0. We both had the higher-priced tempura prawn soba noodle dish. Two large prawns. Very satisfying. SERVICE: 3.0 Effective. AMBIANCE: 3.0.

“famous long-established Soba-restaurant”
Owari-ya serves delicious Japanese buckwheat noodles. This restaurant has a history of over 160 years. My recommendation is Ebi-ten (Shrimp Tenpura) Soba or Kamo-nanban Soba (roasted duck). とても美味しい蕎麦で、雷門蕎麦にあります。160年続く老舗なので、歴史を感じながら、美味しい蕎麦をいただけます。

“Highly written up. But average. ”
Came as a result of the original shop being highly rated. Ordered the 2400Y soba with 2 shrimp tempura but found it being average. Nothing special.

“A delicious and warming meal on a cold winter's night!”
Another great local eatery, this one specialising in tempura and soba noodles. The staff couldn't speak english but were helpful and accommodating despite the language barrier. We had one soba noodle set menu and one prawn tempura set menu. The dried soba noodles we were given as an appetiser were d...elicious! The restaurant is family friendly, and they had no problem with our toddler sharing our meals (they provided her with children's utensils etc.) A delicious and warming meal on a cold winter's night!
