“【A Grown-Up Yakiniku Experience in Shibuya】”
After shopping in Shibuya, my wife and I headed to Yakiniku Inoue Shibuya, located just behind Bunkamura. The restaurant sits on the 3rd floor of a building known for its excellent dining options. Inside, the atmosphere is bright, refined, and calm. There are table seats and private rooms, and the ...restaurant is fully smoke-controlled—exactly the kind of place where adults can truly relax and enjoy high-quality yakiniku. We ordered the limited “Inoue Special Course – Harmony of Japanese Flavors” (12,800 yen). ⸻ Highlights of the Course The first dish, seafood wrapped and marinated in kimchi, immediately impressed us. Its deep seafood umami and spices reminded me of authentic flavors I once tasted in Mokpo, Korea. The shrimp and scallops were sweet, plump, and full of life. Next came the signature Aburi Yukhoe & Snow Crab Sushi. A staff member seared it right in front of us, shaved bottarga on top, then added crab miso and芽ねぎ (young scallions). Each bite delivered layers of richness—tender yukhoe, popping tobiko, and the refined saltiness of bottarga. The heart sashimi was exceptionally fresh, with zero gaminess. It paired beautifully with sansho soy sauce and salt-wasabi. The A5 Zabuton sukiyaki-style dish was a standout. The beef was lightly cooked and coated in egg yolk and dashi, creating a luxurious yet surprisingly light finish. ⸻ Premium Yakiniku Selections The two kinds of aged tongue showed impressive contrast— the tongue base offered deep sweetness, while the upper tongue provided elegant umami. White scallions added a refreshing balance. The harami, cooked rare, released rich flavor with every bite—truly satisfying. A memorable mid-course item was the Ox-Tongue Dobinmushi. We were invited to enjoy the broth first, then the tongue itself, followed by a squeeze of sudachi for a bright finish. This dish proved how seriously the restaurant treats its dashi. The final grilled meats were Shin-Shin and Filet. The filet, in particular, was astonishingly tender with delicate marbling—almost unbelievable for an “akami” (lean cut). ⸻ Finishing the Meal The course ended with a refreshing cold noodles in double dashi. Clear flavors of beef and Japanese broth, accented with sudachi, cleansed the palate beautifully. Dessert was a silky homemade almond tofu with a sweet-tart berry sauce—simple yet exceptional. ⸻ Overall Impression Yakiniku Inoue Shibuya offers a mature, refined yakiniku experience— A5 beef that never feels heavy, thoughtful cooking, and dishes that remain enjoyable until the very end. This is a restaurant I would happily recommend to anyone seeking elegant, high-quality yakiniku in Shibuya, especially adults who appreciate balance, technique, and hospitality.
