“Great local place for Yakitori ”
As our first pick was closed we headed for Asadori a true local yakitori spot in Asakusa. We tried a yakitori set which included meatballs, salmon, scallops, and peppers as well as chicken, the staff was attentive, the interior was attractive, and the overall experience was very satisfying

“Delicious, Authentic, Welcoming”
Asadori is one of our favorite Tokyo restaurants. It is near the Senso-Ji Temple in the Asakusa mariket area, There is often a wait for a table at lunch time, but for an early dinner you can usually get in without a wait, We like the "Western-style tables downstairs. There is an English menu wit...h pictures. "Sticks" -- grilled meat and veggies -- are specialities. The "rice kettle" is wonderful, but takes about 30 minutes to prepare. You can order a salad or sashimi as well, along with other traditional Japanese dishes such as egg custard with mushrooms. Beer and soft drinks as well as tea and water are available, No credit cards.

“Great find!!”
This restaurant was recommended by Aki, our tour guide on the miracle cycling tour, best meal we had in Tokyo! They don’t have an English menu on the outside, but they do have them inside. Amazing service, very friendly and helpful, the food is principally steam rice dishes, they make while yo...u wait, it takes about 30 minutes, so you order sides like grilled chicken livers (lovely) or grilled chicken sticks, recommend the crab salad. Notes - They have a large room upstairs, with traditional seating for larger parties/groups. Well worth a visit - don’t be put off by the lack of reviews, I think that’s because they don’t have an English menu...

“Superb”
Why not try something completely new... especially after we'd been turned down by two of the cheap 'plastic' restaurants and one more with a sign out front saying 'no English' that refused us entry. We stood outside Asadori checking Trip Advisor for restaurants but all the recommendations were 20 mi...nutes away, and a cold wind was blowing so we just turned around and inquired. They graciously let us in and we had a meal served in a traditional rice kettle... delicious and served with the best miso soup ever! Meal with beer and saki, 2 kettles was $4500.

“Asadori Kamameshi”
Went last week to eat their famous Kamameshi literally translates to "kettle rice" and is a traditional Japanese rice dish cooked in an iron pot called a kama. Ordered Salmon kamameshi costing JPY1,400 (about US13) with a set miso shiro and japanese pickles. Since it is lunchtime, a reservation is n...eeded. We ate in low laying table at the 2nd floor. It took about 15-30minutes for our order to arrived, a long wait for some.
