“Top Japanese 10-course menu, my favourite in Tokyo!”
The best food I had in Tokyo!! 10-course menu, all kinds of dishes for various tastes. The fish, seafood plate and the sushi are outstanding! Service is excellent and flawless. A must-go next time in Tokyo. The only weird thing is this private room concept. There isnt really social feeling in the re...staurant, as everyone is in their own private room, no interaction, no visibility with other guests. Maybe it is weird only for me.

“Sushi as an art”
Hidden in a back alley of Ginza the restaurant is not easy to find. You enter through a small door next to a vending machine , go the first floor to discover a tiny and immaculate sushi counter where the chef prepare in front of you his menu! To go there you need to be open to eat see snail, fish li...ver, sea urshin and other delights! The rice is prepared with a special mix of 4 rice vinagres and reveal the test of the most amazing fishes the chef has selected. Sushi as an art! A unique and wonderful experience.

“Sublime”
I've lived in Japan for over 10 years and my lunch at Ibuki was one of the best meals I've ever had. Every morsel was sublime. I walked in on a brisk winter's day at 12:20pm and was the third person seated at the counter. The restaurant filled shortly thereafter (private rooms were already full). ... I had the smaller course menu and didn't finish eating until 2pm. From the tofu, to the four servings of rice (I study the tea ceremony, so I was familiar with this part of a kaiseki meal as tea kaiseki also serve the rice in various stages of being cooked), to the buri teriyaki, the maguro with garlic, wasabi and salt, the steamed dish, homemade pickles, and the pumpkin ice cream with azuki, I was astounded by every course. The chefs were all under the age of 40. Extraordinary talent and great fun to sit at the counter and watch the magic!

“The best of our trip ”
It was our 6th and last Michelin starred restaurant we visited during this lovey trip. It was probably the best also! We had an omakase and for sure you will not leave hungry. Kaiseki is a typical Japanese ceremonial traditional meal where you get many courses. We were 4 and my 2 children couldn’t k...eep up with all this food. The food was creative and they put an emphasis on using the right plates and bowls to enhance the meal experience. It is mainly fish based and no question this is the best quality of fish you could expect. The staff speaks basic English but it doesn’t matter because it is a set menu and you are just expecting dishes to come one after the other. It is a very friendly place and they greeted us with a Japanese way when we entered the restaurant (including their Japanese customers!). When we left, the whole staff went out on the street to salute us with the traditional Japanese respectful bow! (I have never seen it and it is quite a humbling experience). The restaurant is easy to find, we used the iPhone map (even if you don’t have connection, we searched it at the hotel where there is connection and then the phone compass takes over when you lose connection on the street). I would have easily given a 5 stars for the food but like all Michelin starred restaurant we visited don’t expect to see the grandiose experience you will have at Daniel or Per se in NYC. Restaurants are small with private rooms and little ambiance but it doesn’t matter because the food is phenomenal.
