“Unreasonably Starred!”
Édition Koji Shimomura has been a Michelin starred restaurant for more than a decade in Tokyo. Reservations for parties over 6 people must go through the hotel concierge. All guests must pre-order the same menu and provide credit card details in advance. The spacious restaurant is chic and well v...entilated. Servers might be friendly towards Japanese speaking customers, but they do not seem to welcome non-Japanese speakers. The sommelier is probably the most unprofessional of the team! Upon confirming the champagne label with the guest ordering the bottle, he simply pours the entire bottle into the requested number of glasses in equal portions, without first allowing the guest to check on the taste and temperature of the new bottle, completely disregarding the possibility that some guests only want a sip to toast with the family to celebrate the special Easter Sunday! Although hand sanitizers are provided on the dining table for guests to use, hygiene appears to be a concern; the picture of the freshly prepared cup of double espresso should be self-explanatory! While the 8-course “Découverte” lunch (JPY 20,000/head) composed mainly of local ingredients is innovative and light, major problems with servers’ professionalism and hygiene level downgrade the entire dining experience! The overpriced lunch definitely does not live up to the Michelin star level!

Fantastic fusion between European and Japanese cuisines. The chef, who worked in great restaurants in Paris and Milan, blends perfectly the best of the two worlds. Food is sophisticated and yet preserving traditions. Service is impeccable. Great experience

“An amazing 2 star experience”
We were impressed by the amazing service, wine pairing and excellent food! We like particularly the oyster dish, it was very fresh and went nicely with the sea weed on top! The iberico pork was cooked at the right temperature. The tilefish was nice too, crispy but yet tender! We also like the wine p...airing very much, the sommelier picked the wine according to our liking and they went well with the food!! Overall an amazing experience!

“Poor Service & Unique "Wine-Serving" Technique in a so-called Michelin star restaurant - AVOID at all COSTS”
For an one-star Michelin star restaurant, the service was definitely zero. Maybe we are from Hong Kong and non-Japanese, so the restaurant felt that they could disrespect us. The food was actually very good but there are plenty of good quality French restaurants in Tokyo or even Roppongi too. I s...till could not get over the fact that a Michelin-star restaurant served their wine by first, not asking the guest to taste first, and second, equally divide the wine into six glasses (there were six who wants that particular wine). From my perspective, how can that staff even be hired if they don't know how to serve wine? i will argue that the waiting staffs will not serve wine in this manner even in a bistro. Second, the manager should have stepped in immediately and stopped such behavior. Despite excellent food, don't come here ever if you are not Japanese.

“Pretty good food, but nothing special and overpriced”
The food was very good but nothing memorable to me. We've eaten great food in Japan and head food more memorable for less than 10% of the price. Wine pairing was very small glasses. Service was incredible but the location ac ambiance of three restaurant was meh. And I usually don't care about that. ...Given this was a big splurging dinner for us (not people who can afford to just do this often), the >$500 would've been much better spent elsewhere or just saved!
