“Teppanyaki par excellence.”

We were invited for Teppanyaki dinner to Paris Yugao by our local host.I expected it to be good but the dinner was way above my expectation . Chef Hiroshi Yamane created magic with the special menu curated for us..Each and every dish on the menu was fantastic. This place is a MUST visit. The dessert... was absolutely delicious too. Thank you so much for the great evening.

“Excellent Teppanyaki”

On the main street of Ginza, very good Teppanyaki hidden in one of the building. Private rooms with chef cooking at your table. Excellent beef and very fresh vegetables. The garlic rice was really one of the most tasty I ever had. Professional service. Not very busy at lunch time.

“Best place we ate in Japan”

On our honeymoon to Japan we were determined to have some Kobe beef. After looking for good places in Tokyo I came across this place which was very close to our hotel (Park Tower) and I read the really long and detailed review on this place. That guy sold me on this place and I made a reservation on...line. We found the place easily, and we were seemingly the only ones there so had our table/grill/chef to ourselves. We arrived in the area of the place before they opened and during this time I started to worry that the giant review was maybe a fake since it was such a long and great review - Nope, the place was just that good. The chef and staff were all amazing and extremely attentive. She was always right there to refill glasses before we were too low. As for food, we did a lunch special which had multiple courses and while expensive, it was WELL worth it. I seriously was VERY close to having our hotel call this place to try to get in one more time on our trip but we just didn't have the time to do it again! We were so immersed in the experience of the meal that we didn't get many pictures of the food but some of the courses were chilled clams, the first foie gras we had had (wonderful, even after I found out what it is!) with little bread pieces cut into hearts for our celebration, the most tender literally melting kobe (steaks back home in Texas aren't the same now, and Texas has good beef!), and the best rice I had in Japan (it had some kind of dried tiny fish in it - krill? not sure). We were served tea after the meal which was nice. For dessert we had adorable plates that had written in chocolate "happy forever" since they knew we were celebrating our honeymoon. They also took a polaroid picture of us as a keepsake as well. I can talk about this place all day but will go in circles about how amazing it was. I will absolutely be bringing my husband back here when we return to Japan.

“Excellent Kobe beef restaurant To Satisfy Your Kobe Beef Quest!”

Before I start, the name of this restaurant is Paris Yugao, not Palis (which is the translation from Japanese writing). If you want a restaurant to escape from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and a restaurant to conquer your quest for a taste of that highly spoken "KOBE BEEF" , then may I recommend... my secret find- Paris Yugao. They serve real authentic Kobe Beef as signified by the Kobe Beef trophy displaying a cow made of bronze with a metal plate below confirming the source of the Kobe Beef. Location and description: Established for almost a decade, Paris Yugao was created with a "Neo French" or new French mindset because of the owner's fondness for Paris. Tucked away in the shopping district of Ginza, where many famous restaurants are located, is Paris Yugao, my favorite place for Kobe Beef outside of Kobe, Japan. How to get there- If you go by taxi or car, the address is 888 Ginza. The number "888" is very auspicious in Asian culture, meaning luck. Indeed, I felt extremely fortunate to find this treasure. From the subway- Take the Ginza Line to stop #9 (Ginza). Walk to exit "A2". Go up the stairs and walk straight for 3 1/2 blocks to a tall black building called "888 Ginza". The building is almost across the street from the Swarovski Jewelry Store and just before the freeway overpass (landmarks for you). The exterior is composed of black glass with the address "888" in an overlapping pattern. Enter the lobby and make a right to 2 elevators. Go to the 5th floor. As the metallic doors of this business building open, you will realize that you have been transported to another world of serenity and beauty. Decorated with Tiffany glass, Lalique crystals and vases, the waiting area is composed of soft warm Cherry and Mahogany woods interlaced with iron works and adorned with neoclassical furniture reminiscent of the interior of a French mansion. You can choose the French Cuisine side or Kobe Beef Steakhouse side. I'm going to focus on the Kobe beef side. As you enter the steak room, wonderful cabinetry with intricate patterns and beautiful crown moldings surrounds the dining table. The teppanyaki or "iron plate for grilling" is at the center. Now, order a glass of wine or beer. My favorite brew is “Master's Dream", a premium beer only available in Japan. I leave the choice of wine up to your tastes. You will have a choice of steak or combination (fish and steak). I recommend the combination to fully experience the chef's skills. Now, the meal: Appetizer of the day- Yellow Jack Carpaccio. Super fresh raw Yellow Jack, sliced thinly, lightly seasoned with salt and pepper with a side of mixed green salad. Delicious and simple. No fishy taste. Soup of the day- Green peas potage. Potage is French for soup that is thickened and prepared with olive oil , butter, broth, and seasonal vegetables. The green peas potage was simple, smooth, creamy, not overly rich and allowed for perfect transition to the entree part of the meal. Fish of the day- Grilled Flat fish with orange sauce. The outside of the fish was grilled just enough to provide a crispy outer skin without being overly dry or burnt. The flesh underneath the skin was moist and tender. An orange reduction sauce with small orange wedges is served over the fish, providing a mild hint of sweetness and tartness, which amazingly pairs well with the flatfish. Steak- You choose Kobe beef A4M (but there are other meat options). THE MAIN ENTREE! At last. All the dishes that came before the KOBE were excellent and only heightened your expectations. Can the chef do it? Yes! Prepared to your taste, you choose medium rare (ideal for the rich marbling of Kobe beef). The steak is delicate, rich, soft and the best piece of steak you have had in a long time. You try to chew it slowly and savor every bite, but the meat just melts in your mouth. By the way, despite the high fat content of Kobe beef, studies show that Kobe beef (different from other beef) is rich in conjugated linoleic acid which has been shown to reduce heart disease, diabetes, asthma, body fat gain as well as increase immune response. Yes, unbelievable- meat that is good for you! Rice or Garlic Rice- served with the steak if you choose white rice or after the steak if you choose garlic rice. I recommend the garlic rice because the rice is fried with garlic and trimmed pieces of fat from the same Kobe beef that you just ate. Also added to the fried rice are krill and another ingredient (which I can not recall). DO NOT skip out on this if you have never tasted Kobe Beef fried rice. OMG! Delicious and another way to enjoy the aroma and flavor of the Kobe Beef. Dessert of the day- Chocolate Tarte with strawberries, raspberries and surrounded by liquid nitrogen cooled strawberry and chocolate confetti (the only way to describe these strawberry and chocolate bits). The other dessert I had from another visit was freshly made glistening cotton candy (top layer) sitting on Green Tea Ice Cream (middle layer) in a bowl fresh strawberries and blueberries (lower layer). Strawberry confetti was lightly sprinkled on top of the cotton candy and around the dessert. The desserts were not overly sweet and allowed for a wonderful experience of molecular gastronomy. Their desserts are prepared by their pastry chef. Perfect finale to one of the best meals you can experience. Service- Excellent, they pay attention. Think Michelin 3 star service! Languages- They speak Japanese and English Dress code- casual. Most people wore dress shirts, etc. I work a suit and tie (my style) No t-shirts, shorts, flip-flops Atmosphere- casual, you can speak with a medium voice and no one will care. Everyone is having a good time! You will not want to leave this elegant establishment! Great food! Great time! Great Experience! Cost is $$ to $$$ depending on how much you eat. We ate a lot, so cost was about 200 US dollars (about 100 per person). WELL WORTH IT!!! I’ve eaten here several times before placing this review- Key is reproducibility. Yes, same AWESOMENESS each time!
