unfortunately we did not have the chance to sit at the counter but had a nice private table in the basement. service was very attentive and the food perfect. the only small issue is that the basement is smelling wet. but nevertheless highly recommended!

We had such high expectation before we dine in Seizan. The so called two Michelin Star restaurant really excited us when we finally booked a table. We've been through a lot of fine dining in different countries, and this one is so far the worst. 1. The first cold dish was out in seconds after we o...rdered. The seafood was not freshly prepared and tasted like it was made last night. It was sticky and glossy. Moderately inedible. 2. Repeated ingredient was used in multiple dish. Out of 9 course they used eel in 3 courses. Eel soup for the entry, steamed eel as a main and then eel rice. Basically "eel everything". 3. The abalone in the cold noodle tasted funny as well. 4. The dessert was just jelly with a bunch of grapes dumped in it. You could get a better one less than 1000yen in the food hall of Isetan. I could go on with a lot of the "shocking rip-off even by tourist-trap standards" two michelin star dishes but here's the worst part coming... The owner/chef didn't greet us or show face during our dining. We heard a guy and a girl chatting and laughing out loud nonstop behind the kitchen all the time so we thought maybe the chef was off duty on that day. They were so unprofessionally noisy the whole restaurant could hear them. On our way out we finally saw the two chatting for over 2 hours, and surprisingly one of them was the owner/chef! He finally greeted us, and it was because we were paying our bill.... Oh, I forgot to mention the waiter dipped his finger in our soup when he served us. And his nail was blackish!!!! His apron and shoes are dirty too. You could see a bunch of stains on his apron and oil on his shoes. Seizan was not just our worst fine dining experience, it was the worst dining experience we had in Japan, a country with such high dining standard. Even the food and service on JAL business class is better than this. Not too sure how the owner/chef achieved the two Michelin star. But he certainly couldn't be bothered to maintain it.

What a great discovery! Exquisite dinner indeed. Fresh and top raw material combining with superb cooking technique.

I had dinner with my wife. We had 9-course menu with 15,000 JPY (135 USD) p.p. The menus were actually tasty and had nice presentations. The good thing was that they offered the alcohol (Sake and Wine) with reasonable prices, and the total cost was not so expensive for such a Japanese cuisine restau...rant with Two Michelin stars (as of 2016) in central Tokyo. Of course, the chef and other staff were very polite. This restaurant is recommendable for foodies.
