エッセ ドゥエ 赤坂店（ESSE DUE）

On the Van Pimpenstein world tour, 2021, I had a meal at Esse Due. The pizza was fantastic. The custard "pudding" pie was delicious. I highly recommend. It made me wiggle my toes.

Enjoyed this place - after 2.5 weeks in Asia, we were looking for some Pizza and this fit the bill. Pizza was good, price (for Japan) was also good. Would come again. Atmosphere was ok - nothing to write home about and it was very quite, not many customers.

We quickly stopped by last week to get a couple of take-away pizzas. They were very good and tasted fresh. The only negative was the small size along with their price.

If you are waiting at Haneda needing a bite to eat, and looking for something to realign your taste buds to something more western traditional, you cannot go wrong with a pizza at Esse Due. There was a queue but the wait was short and service efficient enough, but not a place for a rushed meal. I ha...d a basic pizza and coffee as a pre-flight brunch which was most enjoyable. No special ambience but that is not an issue - and there is a passage way where staff assist you to park your suitcase if you are pre-check in.

If this place were in my hometown, it'd be my new favorite place for dinner! Delicious from start to finish. We had the 1/2 pizza 1/2 calzone pizza... the first time we've had anything like it. This crust, wood burning stove napoli-type pizza. The crust was just right, not too thin that it becom...es soggy. We also had the tagliatelle pasta, perfectly al dente. Nothing went unfinished. Nice wine list and beers on draft. The only recommendation I'd have would be to add a sake list that would go well with Italian food.
