“Northern Italian cuisine cooked politely”
This small hidden Italian restaurant is located near Yoyogi Park. They feature northern Italian regional cuisine and serve simple and polite flavors of taste. The dinner course was 8000 yen, including 2 appetizers, 2 pastas, main dish, dessert, espresso and confectionery. Horse tartar steak which wa...s their specialty dish was very delicious. The sauce of pasta was also rich in flavorful and tasty.

“One of the best Italian restaurants in Tokyo”
Chef Miyane used to cock for about 6 years in the village Barolo in Piemonte, so his cuisine is Northern Italian. I have been frequenting Ostü for about 12 years now and the quality is consistently on a very high level. The evening menu is less than 7000JPY which is very reasonable for what you get.... They source all their ingredients from producers they know. The wine list is not overly long but well selected.

“Big mistake”
It is a desperately poor and totally overpriced place. Suffices to show a pic of chef's recommended cheese plate: a shaving of parmezan and pecorino, as a finale of equally bland seven course tasting menu. Hopeless.

“Disappointing”
I chose this restaurant based on the fact that it had received a michelin star (usually a pretty good indication- http://gm.gnavi.co.jp/shop/0120151701/), but sadly I was a bit disappointed. We had to follow up our waiter on a few things which was frustrating at the beginning of the evening and th...roughout - waiting a long time to get menu when they were not even busy, asking for some olive oil to go with the bread(which was lovely), having to ask for salt and pepper and extra Parmesan etc. overall his service was reasonable and his English pretty good. We had asked for a salad to be served with our main, but it came out as a pre-entree. I know this is European, but we had specifically asked for it with the main. The garden salad itself was very nice, full of different textures and flavours with about 10 different vegetables included. We had pasta for entree- my husband had a carbonara which he found ok, and I had a homemade sausage and pea pasta which was tasty. The pasta was fresh and al dente. I had braised beef cheek for my main, which again, was nice but not wow and very small. The most disappointing aspect of the meal was my husband's very small but expensive steak served on top of two sticks of asparagus. The steak was not cooked as ordered, and was average quality. We finished the meal with a chocolate hazelnut fondant, which was lovely. I had high expectations of this restaurant having eaten at several michelin restaurants previously, and being a bit of a self professed foodie. But sadly, it failed to live up to our expectations of italian food.

“A little Hit & Miss”
We visited this quaint little restaurant holding one Michelin star for the lunch service last week.. We chose the seasonal menu which was off the top of my head around ¥3500 yen per person which is great value for a restaurant of this standard. The decor is very cute and warm. Service was great, an...d they waiter tried his best to speak English where he could which was quite nice. Before I review the courses I will say that I try everything once, and if it's not me then it is not me. To the restaurants credit they did ask if there is anything We don't like and we said "nothing" a wee mistake on our part.... First course was a raw tuna sashimi with salad. I don't usually like raw fish. If it had been cooked I think I would've enjoyed it more, the tapenade helped a lot. It wasn't great but wasn't bad. Second course was baby shrimp spaghetti with either fish or shrimp eggs - This I couldn't eat. I hate roe of any kind, I've tried caviar and other kinds but this dish was my worst nightmare. I knew it from the moment it was put infront of me. Against my better judgement I tried to eat it thinking maybe this dish may change my negative preconceptions; but it just wasn't my cup of tea and I felt terrible when the waiter collected my plate with 2/3 uneaten. 3rd course is where it all turned round for me. Chicken roulade with truffle, mash and a gravy. WOW! Right up my alley and I swiped every last bit up with the freshly made bread that I couldn't stop eating....mmmmmm 4th course was dessert of part choclate panacotta and part cake was well balanced and not overly sweet. A beautiful way to finish. Espresso at the end was also nice. Although I didn't enjoy every course it was a good experience. I'm not sure I would come back, but if I did I would certainly let them know what I don't like beforehand. The level of cooking is very high and if the first half was like the second half, my review would be much better...
