Possibly the only one, but worth the trip to Shinjuku (couple years ago subway from Asakusa; this time JR from Kanda). Easy to get to- about 10-15 minutes from south Shinjuku exit, straight along Nishishinjuku. It's beyond an overpass, shortly after Shijuku Park Tower. It's sort of in an alley, so... it's possible to blow right by it, so keep an eye to the right. Be aware (despite mentions in numerous reviews) there MAY be a seat charge of ¥400 and possibly a minimum drink requirement. My line-item receipt did not show any unexpected charges, so they may have bowed to complaints and stopped charging, but I'm pretty sure they had a seat charge a couple years ago. The drink requirement (if that even exists) can be met with a single market-price beer or tasty mango juice, and the prices are so reasonable that if you have more than a couple lamb skewers, the bill will come out to less than one would expect, so leave the outrage at home or in your hotel, and just look at the bottom line. Food is made to order, and is fresh and delicious, and decent size portions. I was completely sated, and brought back half a lamb naan for breakfast. The kebabs have a two-skewer minimum (get over it- they are inexpensive and you'll want two anyway). The leghmen noodles are pulled in full view in the open kitchen, and taste as fresh as they look. Just had a delicious Thai meal, but I find myself yearning for Uyghur noodles... Place pulls foreign travelers from many remote locations; my last dinner there, some Uzbek/Americans were trading vocabulary with the waiter, who was from Kashgar.

Came there with my son for dinner. They do have menu in English, but don't speak the language. I know some Uzbek, which is similar to Uighur, and using it worked. We had a great time. Food was very good and later that week we took our Japanese friends there, who also enjoyed it. Definitely will be b...ack next time in Tokyo.

I was excited to see a Uyghur restaurant in Tokyo, having been traveling in Xinjiang a couple of years ago. I was not disappointed! The food was incredibly tasty and very authentic - really flavorful. You should try the lamb skewers which were great, and the pumpkin naan and dumpling soup were also... standouts (the broth in the soup had great depth of flavour!). They have three course options (check out their website, which has English, for what those contain), for ¥2,500-¥4,500. We went for the ¥2,500 and it was good. The staff were friendly, and the decor can be described as ‘charmingly 1980’s’. Re the comments below I have no idea if they charged us service, I didn’t check the bill. However a table charge is very common in Tokyo (perhaps as tourists the reviewers are not aware of that), so I don’t think the restaurant should be penalized for that! (And they did bring a small dish that would commonly associate with a table cover charge) So yes, do go - and if you have never had Uyghur food before this will be a good introduction!

disgusting and horrible! this is certainly the worst place to eat in Tokyo. Avoid at all costs. I complained and they overcharged me 400 yen for the seats. the food was awful. I really wanted to call the police on this people. 東京で一番最低最悪の店です。絶対に行かないでください。食べ物は恐ろしくまずい。それだけじゃなくお金も席代として取られます。気を付けてくださ...い。
