“What a great and intimate experience”
This place was very difficult to find and we almost gave up, but luck was on our side and we found someone (from another restaurant) who took us there. The search and effort was so worth it. It's a very small restaurant but it adds to the charm. (Note: big groups won't work) We sat at the cooking... counter and our chef could speak English. He asked us about our wine choices (very nice French wines) and explained the menu to us. We ended up choosing a 3-course menu: the sashimi, the potato soup and their specialty: the Foie gras Burger patty. Everything was absolutely delicious and prepared so carefully and gracefully right in front of us. We also had the specialty curried fried rice - also very good! And dessert (Creme brûlée - not too sweet and smooth like I have never had before) was the perfect end to this fantastic evening. For the experience I did not mind paying about 28 000 yen per person and if I ever have the chance I will certainly go back.

“Left hungry”
Billed as serving French-Japanese food, this small restaurant is located in a food-court like setting on the 8th floor of a building in the Ginza district. My appetizer which the menu listed as having clams and scallops was a thin slice (about a quarter inch) of a jellied loaf with green beans and ...the aforementioned seafood scraps. My main course was lamb - this consisted of one thin little lamb chop. For afters, I ordered cheese - got three of the thinnest slices you have ever seen - one type as pre-sliced so was dried up and curly

“Beautifully prepared and delicious food”
I ate my lunch with my husband at this teppanyaki restaurant and totally loved it! We sat by the teppan and watching the preparation of the the lovely food was an experience itself. We had the lunch set consisting of an entree (we had a very soft pancake with salmon and some very fresh chicken ham w...ith asparagus), a soup, the fish of the day (it was a mouthwatering tuna with veggies), a main course (a succulent rumpsteak and a gorgeous hamburger with bits of foie gras and a red wine sauce), a dessert (some curry rice and a selection of sorbets), a glass of red wine (bourgogne) plus a complimentary bread basket, water, and tea/coffee served with a small piece of delicious chocolate cake. It all came for a little less than 60 euros --- such a great value for money! Dinner is more expensive, so I recommend enjoying lunch to have a lovely meal which is easy on your finance!

“A Hill of a meal”
A female professional golfer who plays on the Legends Tour told me that I had to visit A Hill when in Tokyo. When I told her that I was going to Tokyo, she made me sit down at my computer and look up the restaurant. From the looks of it, I wanted to go. Well, last evening I dined there and it was ...exceptional. What I love about this restaurant is the comfortable attitude the entire staff, including the Chef exhibit . A Hill serves great food, takes their service very seriously, but does not feel oppressive or stiff. Our group sat at the "counter" and it was a real treat. My hosts, all Japanese, were teasing me about A Hill being like a hibachi place because we were sitting in front of a large cooking surface. Well, much to everyone's pleasure, it was not hibachi! The menu offers an interesting combination of Asian and French preparations. ALL of the courses were very well prepared and the portions very comfortable. A Hill is a special eating venue that I highly recommend. Colin A. Burns, CCM

“Wagyu beef....can cut with a fork”
Ahill is a short walk from the Hotel Seiyo in the Velvia building on the 8th floor and a Teppanyaki type restaurant though there are tables at which we chose to be seated. We shared a mushroom salad that was very good wtih interesting flavors, and each had a 100 gram filet of Wagyu beef that just m...elted in your mouth. While English is not their long suit, we were able to communicate and the service was very friendly and helpful. As we left the restaurant, all thanked us for visiting that made you feel as a vaued guest. If in Tokyo again, we would definitely visit this restaurant. The salad, 100 gram steaks each for 2, a bottle of Pinot Noir, and service tax was $220 USD for 2.
