“Terrific dinner at Massa”
First time back after almost two years, and almost didn’t go when I read Chef Kobe had died. Well, so glad I did. The service was terrific, and the food was great. Had a talk with the Chefs wife and learned bookings were down since he is gone. Mistake! Great as ever. Brought a colleague, and he was ...really impressed. The apprentice chef under Kobe has taken over the duties, and he carries on the great quality. I highly recommend Massa.

“Lovely dinner”
After meeting Chef Kobe in Sydney it was a must to dine at his restaurant in Tokyo. A little tricky to find as it is a small restaurant down a side street, but well with the trouble. Offering a choice of two degustation menus too choose from, the meal was one of the most enjoyable I have had. Bookin...gs essential.

“Italian, but really "Japanese-Italian"”
An Italian grandmother would have walked out when served the Bonito shashimi as an appetizer. The pasta lunch course was good, but a small portion and served without a knife or Parmesan. This Italian food was probably comparable to how sushi and Udon noodles would be served up in Montalcino. Ok, ...but would not return.

“Good Once in a Lifetime Experience”
There are so many great restaurants in Tokyo-it's hard to choose. However, someone on the plane next to me on the way out recommended Ristrante Massa-since the head chef is Chef Kobe of the original Iron Chefs. I called and made a reservation in advance, and took public transit to the restaurant. I...t was easy to find, and inside was clean but simple. OK by me-I was there for the food. The menu was in English (perhaps because I called ahead?) and unique. Food was decent, sometime different from the normal hamburger and fries, but I wouldn't say one of my top meals. The fish dishes were very fishy, but may have just been the style-just not something I prefer. Highlight of the evening was when the chef came out for photographs. He was very courteous and friendly, and took a picture with us.

“Always a pleasure”
We dined at Massa because we were huge fans of the Iron Chef. We found out that Chef Kobe cooked here every night, as opposed to some of the other Iron Chefs' restaurants where they are not always there. The food was quite exciting, and varied, with a fixed price menu available. it offered you sever...al options over each of the courses. The service and restaurant staff were wonderful, although our Japanese made things a little difficult. The staff explained each of the dishes as they came out. The settings were well done, and the restaurant has a very elegant feel to it. After our meal we were fortunate to spend some time talking to Chef Kobe. He was very pleasant and it certainly made our evening.
