“Exceptional Kaiseki and Tempura experience”
I am not that used to write reviews but I do believe I have to write this one. This has been simply my best ever kaiseki ( and one Michelin star) experience in Tokyo. Was very impressed by how suttle and tasty every dish was with an astonishing and extremely precise balance of flavors. In addition t...he welcome and attention during the diner has been exceptional.

“Disappointing”
I dined at this restaurant primarily because it was a restaurant where I was able to find a seat on a Sunday evening (many good restaurants in Tokyo are closed on Sundays) preceding a public holiday in Japan and during the Chinese New Year week when Tokyo is very busy with visitors from China, Hong ...Kong and other places in Asia. I was also intrigued by the description of the meal because although the name of the restaurant suggests that it is a tempura restaurant, it was said that the course would be a kaiseki course. As soon as I arrived, my heart sank because I was the only diner at the counter (which has about 8 to 10 seats) : not a good sign at all. Eventually, I noticed that there were two other diners in the restaurant, in a private room. I was soon to discover why there were so few diners ... The food was a total disappointment. As noted above, the course was described as a kaiseki course. However, with the exception of the soup, the tempura and the final rice dish, each dish was cold, consisting of small dishes with various thrown together. That's not my idea of a kaiseki meal. The tempura was also not of the quality I would expect of a one-Michelin starred restaurant. Whilst I did not expect it to be of the same high quality as that served at Mikawa, I expected it to be of at least the quality to be found at tempura restaurants like Nakagawa in Tokyo and Tenyu in Kyoto or even Ippoh in Hong Kong. It was not. So my advice is that you're better off spending 25,000+ yen at a better restaurant.

“Worth the splurge”
This one star restaurant is truly amazing. Every single dish set in front of you is delightful and elegant. The chef and hostess are very down to earth and friendly so don’t feel intimidated by the ambience. Strongly recommend sitting at the counter so you can have the tempura served right away. It’...s the best way to have it.

“A most exquisite omakase dinner ”
You've seen the other reviews. You've noted that everyone has given five stars. Yup, this is THE place to go to for a truly fascinating and enjoyable omakase experience. Not that easy to find; my company tracked it down using GPS. Exteriorly, it doesn't look like anything at all, as the restaura...nt is in the basement with a little not-so-obvious entrance. The short walk down towards the restaurant is a remarkably zen experience. Once inside, you will be treated to attentive Japanese hospitality. Ambience is quiet, simple and cosy. Drinks are constantly refilled (if you order the refillable ones, of course, such as hot green tea). All courses come in visual feasts and very delicate refined servings. Make a reservation. And tell them If you have dietary requirements, because the chef cleverly modifies the day's menu for you. You should be spending about two and a half hours there. Oh, I liked the restrooms too - even have packet mouthwashes!

“Lovely restaurant with beautiful food”
The restaurant looks elegant and the food is beautiful. This restaurant is below ground level, and the walk to the entrance is really nice, with backlights in the walls and flowers displayed. My husband and I speak Japanese, but some of the staff do speak English (and even some German and Dutch!).... An English menu is available (not to choose from, it's a set course, but there is an English description of the food). I took a few pictures and I think they speak for themselves.
