“Do not waste your money and time here”
I was extremely disappointed with my experience at this Michelin-starred Kaiseki restaurant. Despite paying over $200 per person, the meal was underwhelming. The dishes were cold, lacked flavor, and felt cheap. One of the courses, a "shrimp-shaped radish," was particularly perplexing. It seemed as t...hough they were cutting corners on ingredients while charging a premium price. The restaurant claimed the menu featured seasonal items, yet I was served only four pieces of sashimi—there was no uni, wagyu, or any of the expected high-quality offerings. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience, and I do not feel it was worth the cost. I would not recommend this restaurant.

“Overpriced Omakase, not fresh and taste mediocre”
Cost 100,000 yen for 2 people. Most dishes were not prepared by chef, ingredients were not fresh (seafood and uni had fishy smell), taste of entire course was mediocre. I basically only took 1-2 bites of every dish and even skipped dessert. Even the hot matcha tea was cold and had a bitter aftertast...e. Chef struggled with slicing sashimi which is never a sight I expected to see in years of having omakase anywhere (not to mention it cost 50,000 yen per pax). Eventually the chef did not bother to serve us the last dish because he was offended by our feedback that the food was not fresh (we were served by another young chef). There was no attention to detail to food, presentation and etiquette. Service staff were not trained to serve omakase and took very long just to serve water/ tea. To be fair, there were only 6 diners in the entire restaurant. Entire dinner experience was a fail. I doubt the validity of their 1 Michelin star qualification and I would DEFINITELY NOT recommend anyone the dinner experience here.

“Good Kaiseki”
Our last kaiseki of our trip to Japan; and it was the best. Still I'm not that great fan of the cuisine. I really enjoy gastronomic european, american michelin starred restaurants. In Japan they seem to have a totally different concept: the food stays very minimalistic, with great products, but the...re seems to be no search to enhance and refine the dishes: the first courses were good, but the main rice dish: just rice with some grilled fish that they mix at the table. Dessert: a cube of brown sugary jelly: that's it. And after that: some fresh raisins and peach with some champagne jelly. Is this bad ? No, absolutely not: but a european starred restaurant would never serve so simple dishes.

“Beautifully simple exquisite Japanese cuisine”
We enjoyed a great traditional "kaiseki" dinner here while in Tokyo. By western standards of a "fancy restaurant," this establishment is quite unassuming and simple, but the food clearly sets it apart. Each course we enjoyed was delicious, beautifully presented, and the chef and staff were very wel...coming despite our non-existent Japanese language skills.

“Well-Deserved Reputation ”
Ginza-Toyoda is a two-star Japanese resto located amongst the lights and high-end shops of Ginza. Led by chef Keiichi Okamoto Ginza-Toyoda is an excellent choice for a high-end, seasonally-inspired Japanese meal. Do plan ahead for reservations as seating is limited. We savoured the Omakase menu whic...h goes way beyond sushi or sashimi. The tea house-inspired design of the dining space is very pleasing. Sake, wine and beer options are available. We were particularly taken with the care and attention to the various course preparations and service - we were the only Westerners in the resto that evening. Okamoto-san is a very kind and friendly chef and host. Please take note of the cancellation policy and do let the resto know of any dietary limitations as great care is taken to prepare the menu for guests. Fully-priced but fair. The Ginza neighbourhood is also bright and bustling with many options available for a late night drink after dining.
