Superb tempura prepared by this Michelin two star chef in a minimalist setting tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. One of our favorite restaurants in Tokyo.

“One of the best 2 Michelin Star Tempura in Tokyo”
The 2 Michelin Star Tempura Ginya 銀屋 served one of the very best tempura for more than 30 years. No wonder that every tempura dish presented was perfect, look good and taste very good. The ingredients used from vegetable to fish, prown, sea urchin etcs all very fresh and of the best quality. The mas...ter chef made the tempura while always moving his body like in tune with the sounds of the frying oil. We enjoyed all the presented dishes and the perfect japanese hospitality.

“Michelin star tempura”
Tucked in a little side street, was this little restaurant which seats 8 people only. We were greeted by, I think, the Chef’s wife, who seated us. She was lovely and attentive. The tempura was very light, barely a trace of oil on the paper on the plate, we enjoyed a variety of offerings including a... beautiful sashimi starter, multiple varieties of vegetable, and seafood tempura, finishing with rice, and soup! It was a lovely experience and we enjoyed the food

“Wonderful tempura. Some of the very best in Japan and on this planet.”
The food is excellent. The chef is masterful and his hospitable wife serves the drinks. Good selection of drinks but a pity there was no shochu. Ingredients were of a high quality. Toilet was clean and well maintained. This was an experience fully worth 2 Michelin stars.

“Love it, love it, ...”
A lovely and humble couple runs this one-star GM restaurant. The tempura pieces are unbelievably tasty. The best of two worlds: having amazing in a personal and cosy environment.
