Several years ago, we visited here and once again we were reassured that this is a good value. We had fish and beef once again, it was just as it was several years again. Great service and my beef and fritz (sic) was on point.

In a horror movie there is always a telling moment when the audience says "Get Out!" to the unsuspecting victim...that moment was when the waitress here dropped my order for a Bellini to start off the meal. I should have chalked it up and left, however I tend to be forgiving-to a point. I went on to... order the escargot and a salade nicoise to be served in that order. An order of Frites, foie gras and lamb was also placed with a glass of red wine to accompany it. The order was placed asking for no salt. The waitress repeated everything back to us to confirm the order and went to place it. The red wine arrives and shortly after: frites with a dish of mayo, sour cream and ketchup. No Bellini. We call another waitress over and she orders the Bellini. Meanwhile we taste the fries that look exactly like McDonald's frozen fries and sure enough, they are coated in salt. We send them back. A Bellini appears that has been served at room temperature. I send it back. The new unsalted fries appear and the "corrected" Bellini appears. The drink is indeed colder but now has no taste or fizz because the waitress has put ice into it to make it colder thus killing the sparkling wine. Let's stop here...the audience is now out of their seats screaming "Run!" In part because there is a total of the 1000 yen cover charge for the table on top of all other costs accrued. I send the Bellini back a second time. Now a waiter appears. This young man is fluent in English and a bit chagrined over the whole failed drink thing and offers me another- on the house. I politely decline. The salad comes out next. The reasoning behind this is that the escargot will take time to prepare with no salt. Except that Chef had no intention of preparing it, staff just took a few more minutes to inform me that it would not be available at all. The traditional cold foie gras was a nice portion and well presented although if this was pre-prepared all that had to be done was to slice it and plate it with a few salad greens. The 5200 yen serving of sugar coated pan fried foie gras was a disaster. The interior texture was horrific and hinted of prior freezing. A waste of liver. We struggled through it as by now there was no sending anything back to waste more time. I ordered this as a substitute for the escargot and did not realize that the portion was so large, nor was it pointed out that it was so expensive. But live and learn.... The salad had been sitting on the table a good 30 minutes by now and had it been in another place would never have done so. It would have been kept chilled at least if not replaced entirely. But ok, waste not want not-penny wise and pound foolish the liver got murdered so why not the salad as well? At no time did management step in to reverse the downhill on a toboggan slide of this experience. The waiter was understandably nervous each time he returned to us to deny a request made, I would have been embarrassed too at those prices. There was absolutely nothing good or positive about the experience.

Lunch plates are from ¥1300-( bread, main, coffee or tea or ice cream). The portion is not satisfactory for a big eater but tastes fine. Since the restaurant is spacious and terrace seats outside, you can relax and enjoy conversation with coffee after the meal. I would be happy to come by again.

Came for lunch and we had the beef and fish pretty good and the set did not break the bank. The house red was a good surprise.
