NARISAWA

We were lucky enough to score a last-minute lunch reservation at Narisawa during our recent trip to Japan, and it an incredible dining experience. The food was beautifully presented, creative and almost whimsical, and most importantly, absolutely delicious. As you'd expect from a two Michelin sta...rred restaurant, the service was impeccable. But it was also warm and kind -- not something that's always true at very high-end places. The staff took the time to explain the background of dishes and the ingredients used and -- since I opted for the sake pairing but am not super familiar with sake -- provided some much-appreciated education. The dining room is very minimalist, which didn't bother me at all but might not be what some people are expecting. It didn't detract in any way from the experience -- in fact, it just helps make the food and service the star of the show. My traveling companion has a couple of dietary restrictions, and they were able to accommodate those as a matter or course. Though it's far from inexpensive, I'd recommend Narisawa to anyone traveling to Tokyo

Returning to Narisawa after five years, we were once again amazed by the restaurant's exceptional culinary capabilities. The menu, featuring standout dishes like eel over rice and innovative lobster with noodles and tomatoes, left us at owe. Each dish served was a testament to Narisawa's unwavering... commitment to excellence and creativity in cuisine. It's a must-visit for anyone seeking a truly remarkable gastronomic journey. Simply delicious without imposing weird dishes!

First of all - the food, the presentation, the wines and sakes, all is impeccable, a wonderful experience . But the evening was still not a success. We arrived shortly before 6 o'clock (I had made a reservation for 6 o'clock - you apparently already have to start at 6 o'clock at the latest), the re...staurant was already, except for our table, fully occupied. Our waiter obviously had the goal of getting us up to speed as quickly as possible and synchronizing our timing with the other guests (I had the impression we were 45 minutes behind in comparison). Accordingly, we had to start very quickly, had no time to arrive - hardly had we finished one course, the next came (sometimes after two minutes). After half an hour, I remarked to the waiter that we would like to have a little more time between courses. He noted this slightly annoyed, but nothing changed. Too bad, we could not enjoy the evening. Rather high prices, but still reasonable for the quality of the food and creativity. Note that you will spend only two to max three hours in the restaurant; in other Michelin ** or *** restaurants, I often spent four or five hours, it was much more relaxed.

They made me a special menu because I had been here before. Due to a terrible mistake I was an hour and five minutes late, and in spite of the kitchen closing deadline they served me 12 courses in 85 minutes and yet we didn't feel rushed. It was a symphony yet improvised. I truly love these people ...and they have my loyalty forever. The service is amazing as is the food. You will never forget your meal here.
