Wanted to try Gyukatsu and found this place on accident - had to go downstairs into the basement. So glad we did though as it was a delicious and tranquil restaurant when shinjuku area is crazy busy. It was sooooo good! Meat melted in your mouth. Loved the wasabi and various dipping sauces. It’s W...agyu beef cutlet and you can grill more on a personal gel burner at the table if you want the meat cooked more. Menu was in Japanese but Google Translate was very helpful. There is one sheet in multiple languages including English to explain how to enjoy the beef cutlet and how to cook on the burner if desired. Great experience. Servers all friendly and spoke some English.

Being in Shinjuku for a few days we felt obliged to try the famous deepfried beef cutlet dish you see in numerous restaurants all over the vibrant neighbourhood. AONA was a nice choice with its cosy basement atmosphere. We shared a plate of the characteristic deepfried schnitzel-style beef, that we ...gracefully fried quickly over the table. A nice warm soup, rice and salad were excellent choices as add ons to the meat. Good times in lovely Shinjuku 😋 and at a more than reasonable price too ❤️

It was the best stake and tuna we have ever had! The staff was very friendly. Originally we each just got one thing each just to sample as a snack before dinner. After we took our first bites we called our server back and ordered 3 more of everything we had tasted and ended up having dinner there in...stead.

Amazing Wagyu beef! We had 7 people and they were very accomodating to a group. The servers and staff were very friendly and helpful as well!
