Super Unfriendly staff! Came to the place to have coffee and desert. One staff asked us to move to another table because it was reserved but no one came, so she just lied! Hate being lied to. Coffee was crap for 660 yen and was told no desert after 2 even they had them on the menu. WTF!! Never go ag...ain!

A great spot for quality Mexican food with lots of fun cocktails and amazing small plates. Large covered outdoor patio. Recommend guacamole, pork belly tacos and the fish entre.

“Mexican food at its finest”

Check out Bosque when you want to savor as good as Mexican cuisine gets in Tokyo, probably Japan. Don't let the location deter you. Bosque is technically located in Shinagawa, but is less than a minute from Meguro Station(which technically is also located in Shinagawa)l in the trendy new Meguro Cen...tral Square Tower, 1F, across from Starbucks(among the best of these9 on the first floor. Don't let the prices deter you either. Food in this eatery is meant to share. The tacos we sampled are out of this world. The main dishes, pork spare ribs and another the roasted duck are exceptionally tasty. The desert churros with chocolate sauce, while not authentically Mexican, their origin rather Spain and Portugal, these in Bosque alone merit a visit. Bosque has a wider variety of Tequilla I have found northeast of Cancun or Cozumel. I was astounded. Bosque is tres romantique, a perfect off-the-beaten path to propose to your gal or refresh/repair a relationship with a partner. In the warmer seasons, outdoor seating is available and very comfortable, Indoors, dinner-time is candle-light and subdued. The place is spacious, the decor attractive. The chef and sous-chef are Mexican. Other staff in the kitchen are, surprisingly, Nepalese. They along with the entire staff in Bosque are very friendly. Our waiter was an exchange student at the best university for foreign language studies in Japan, Mexican, conversant in of course Spanish and English. We enjoyed a bottle of Chilean wine from a Philippe Rothschild vineyard. It was tasty, but at 5,300 a bottle overpriced, relative to my standard of 2x the average retail price in Japan. If you want gourmet Mexican food, try Bosque.

“High end, gourmet Mexican in Tokyo”

This place is still relatively new but very undiscovered. There are many new cheap "Mexican" options in Tokyo but this is probably the first high-end gourmet Mexican restaurant. Something you may find in Mexico City. This is not the place to go when you are craving a burrito or other Mexican-Amer...ican foods like nachos, etc. I have been here with my family a handful of times now as we live nearby and each time (with the exception of one) the restaurant was near empty. I will get back to this later in my review. So reservations are not necessary at this point in time but its always safe to do so. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy-modern with a touch of sophistication. No colorful skulls, sombreros or other tchotchkes hanging around, etc. The design is simple and modern. The open kitchen concept is nice and gives the place a bit of a warm feel and break from the concrete and wood floors and walls. The service is good. The staff are all sharply dressed. Because there are so few customers, they are always attentive and always available when needed. All the chefs/cooks greet us when we arrive and leave the restaurant. I heard the chef is Mexican and the rest of the kitchen appear to be either Mexican or from Central/South America. The servers that we had speak at least Japanese and English. Obviously Spanish will not be a problem here too. Menu is in both Japanese and English. Food timing was good and I am sure can be adjusted to whatever order you feel like. The food was from very good to excellent. Corn tortillas I am sure are home made and the quality of the ingredients are excellent. Menu options are good and presentation is clean and sophisticated. Again, this is high-end Mexican and you will not get a big slop of refried beans and rice next to your main dish. Recommended items are taco al pastor (actually all of the tacos are good), tortilla soup, and the sandwiches. I tried the steak with mole sauce which was just pretty good. The mole was really nice though. But the churros dessert is excellent. It comes with some hot chocolate with is also very delicious. The churros are light and fluffy inside with a nice crispy outer shell. Quite possibly one of the best we have ever had in the world! So overall, this place is great. But the place is not attracting too many people. I have thought long and hard about why that is and do not know for sure but have a few theories. 1) its too new for Japanese people. Japanese are just learning about Mexican food and are still starting with burritos, tacos, taco bowls, etc. I don't think they know what kind of food to expect from a high-end Mexican place and thus do not walk by it and feel like they want to try it. 2) location is a bit hidden. Its in a new building with not a huge amount of foot traffic and they are at the end of the way where they probably get the least amount of foot traffic in front of the restaurant. 3) Its a bit on the expensive side. It's definitely not targeting younger people with their prices but in my experience, older Japanese are less inclined to try new restaurants. In general, Meguro (where this place is located) is not where there are lots of major corporations that may have wealthy employees like areas such as Aoyama, Ginza, etc. It's a shame that it is not more well known and I really want them to do well since they are bringing something new to Tokyo that is actually really good. I hope more people discover this place and make it an option for when they dine out. It is family friendly but also has a good selection of tequilas. And in the warmer months, they have a nice comfortable and quiet terrace seating area. I will be back again soon to support them and also to get some more of their desserts.
