This casual, family-friendly yakiniku restaurant is located in Mioka, Kamiooka. I visited for lunch, and while it was a bit busy outside so I didn’t get a photo of the entrance, it’s clearly a place designed for families to feel comfortable. The lunch menu is varied and reasonably priced, which is... great. I ordered the Special Beef Tongue Lunch with 1.5 times the regular portion of meat (¥1,700). If you choose the standard size, it’s ¥1,400. I also asked for a large serving of rice—mainly because I knew my kids would want to share! The meal came with a seaweed soup that had a clean, flavorful broth. In Korea, seaweed soup is often enjoyed for its health benefits, and this one tasted nourishing and satisfying. The set also included a fresh, crunchy Korean-style salad and some kimchi. For this price, the portions felt generous. The beef tongue itself was nicely thick and had great texture. There were plenty of slices, so it felt substantial and satisfying to grill each piece. I prefer cooking the tongue lightly so it stays tender and juicy. The aroma and the sound of the sizzling fat were wonderful. The large bowl of rice was definitely the right choice, since my kids were eyeing my plate from the start. Altogether, this felt like a real treat—a satisfying meal that everyone enjoyed. Even though the staff may have thought, “Wow, he eats a lot!” it was worth getting extra meat and rice. If you’re dining with your family, Chikaraya is a great place to enjoy tasty yakiniku in a relaxed atmosphere. They also offer all-you-can-eat options, making it convenient and flexible for any occasion. It was my first visit, but the friendly staff and comfortable setting left a good impression. I’d definitely come back the next time I want an easy, enjoyable yakiniku lunch in Kamiooka. Highly recommended!
